When I was young there where less cars on the road, I liked driving in general, now an hours journey in my campervan feels long enough tbh. I prefer to take my time, split a 300 mile journey up over 5 days when I can unless I'm really enjoying the drive and the conditions are nice. Age definitely helps us slow down, in a good way. I am deaf, and I have a Class 1 and RNIDES Card. Despite having over 26 months of no experience, I still have not found a good job to start. All the job postings emphasize the need for more and more experience. The pay within a 30-mile radius of my home is quite low. The highest offer I received was £13.55 per hour for a Class 1 job that required me to be away from home. I decided not to accept that offer and instead opted for self-employment driving a van, where I can earn £250 a day. My working hours are from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. This way, I can work in a more relaxed manner without having to deal with STUPID tachograph rules.

This is why that Fuel shortage happened 2 year ago , as imagine you have passed your ADR certification and then your getting £15 quid an hour? Totally ridiculous , My late dad used to drive Class 2 lorries and it was more trouble than it was worth , not only did he have to deliver the loads but he had to then unload the stuff himself using a forklift truck or if it wasn't curtain sided he would use a pump truck , totally ridiculous as in my opinion the people receiving the goods should be unloading their own stuff not the other way round. I myself have tried van driving in my past lasted 1 month delivering paint for Dulux and that was awful , the worst day was when a gust of wind blew a can of paint over and it went over a customers vehicle ,luckily it was not a man but a woman who owned the car and she was calm and just did an insurance claim but yeah i knew then i was not cut out for that , instead i found retail work to be my thing , either stacking shelves or helping on the checkouts at Waitrose much calmer environment , you do get the odd nasty customer but no where near as stressful as driving is nowadays , anyway i wish you luck and hope you can find a settled career.

@@lukehill8214 i think that could easily be done but id imagine the oven would need to go where the side window is behind the driver seat. The seat bench then slides out to meet the kitchen side to make a big bed. Surprising what you can fit in these haha

Hi matey, no it is a long wheel base. The mattress was a small double so 4ft wide and all i cut off the bottom was the corner for where the lights are. Foam mattress from Ikea, unzipped cover and cut the foam back.. i did have to keep the rear window reveals indented so i used 10mm self adhesive closed cell foam then a 3mm ply then carpet lined. I lay on it and I’m 5ft 10 and i had a few inch left below my heels laying flat.

@@Infinityvibes360 Hi Robert, this one was a 60 plate 2010 i think. In terms of the front seats if you want to fit these or Audi TT seats which both are a fairly simple fit they just need a notch grinding of the bottom. I show this in one of the videos.i will try to find it for you. If you want a single passenger seat simply buy a seat base for a drivers seat from the same model of van (tat yard/ebay) and it bolts into the passenger side although one of the holes is under the mat so just cut it out the mat. Some seats will bolt straight on top of the two seat bases. I had to drill a couple of holes. But theaw where quite low so i fitted some 5x3 steel box section to raise their height. It all sounds much more difficult than it is to be fair

Irritating soundtrack aside, that is the worst campervan layout I have seen. A short bed is really awful thing to do, then it is too high to sit up...and there is no proper seating. What were you thinking? I have a Vivaro, so I know how practical they can be.
@Baloovanz
@Baloovanz 8 ай бұрын
😂 Thanks for your feedback. I have built around 10 Vivaros with this layout that have sold with no problem. Some of those people, I have kept in contact with who still love the van years later, this one included. Short bed? The bed is 180cm long when fitted at the bottom of the window reveal. I’m 5ft 10 and could lay on that bed stretched out without my feet touching the bottom of it so hardly a “short bed”. I could also sit on the bed without my head touching the ceiling of the van as could the customer who purchased it. With some clever thinking it can be fitted to work fine. My feedback from customers and own experience differs from your negative opinion but you do you and i’l do me 👍🏼

@@Baloovanz So how long is the bed, if it isn't 1.83 it isn't legal. Seated in the driver's seat where do you put your legs? So it is a two seater at best. How do you cook, you cannot stand and you cannot sit. But the biggest problem is being unable to sit up in bed. I have a standard R&R bed, swivel double seat which seats 4 and 4 can travel in the van, sleeps 2 comfortably plus a dog. And you can sit up in bed. The whole thing cost £1k in parts.
@Baloovanz
@Baloovanz 8 ай бұрын
@@allanb52 OK first of all there is no legal requirement for the length of a bed in the back of a self build campervan, so no idea what you are talking about. Secondly as i just said the bed is 180cm long. In regard to the drivers seat, it swivelled, so just like any other camper van it can be put on an angle to face into the back of the van as can the passenger seat. Those combined with the curved seat mean that 3 can sit at the table. The cooker is also easily reachable by sitting on the curved cushion or kneeling. Whatever the person wishes to do. Obviously you can’t stand up to cook it would need a pop top which is obviously an additional cost - which i would have fitted if someone wanted it. I have built many vivaros in the layout you have, with an rnr bed which also works for other people. Some people hate rnr beds and find them, a mess about sliding up and down and too generic. People have different tastes, needs and preferences. I’m glad yours works for you. This van worked for me and for the person it was sold to, so not sure where your going with it or your reason for going to someones youtube channel, to criticise their work. How about go out on a trip in your vivaro with your rnr bed and enjoy your time instead of spreading negativity?
@allanb52
@allanb52 8 ай бұрын
You said you have 10 happy customers, so this is not a self build. In order to get the vehicle registered as a campervan the bed must be at least 6 foot. The maximum van width is 1.64m and even if it were 1.8 is still doesn't conform to regs. So you advising others to build a campervan that can never be legalised and again, how do you use the cooker/sink? It is a "Little Bess"..how they tortured Guy Fawkes.

Hi, It’s been a while but i used 10mm high density foam stick back then 3mm ply cut out of window reveal then carpet. I fitted the framwork just under the bottom of the window reveal so the curved bottom part of the reveal sat in the middle of the height of the mattress then cut like an L shape overhang to the mattress so it fit snug. I cant remember exact length but i am 5ft 10 and i could like flat put with my head touching the top i had around 3 inch at the bottom of my heels before touching the bottom (other window reveal). Hope that makes sense.

Hey 👋 lush conversion. I’m looking at the LWB Trafic I see you have done the bed width ways, this is my idea too, was this with a smaller double?
@Baloovanz
@Baloovanz Жыл бұрын
So it was a 4ft wide small double and 180cm long. I made sure to get the mattress without springs in and place it in the widest part which is to place the central struts at pillow and feet (at bottom of the window) in the middle of the depth of the mattress so that the top surface area of the mattress gives enough space to lie flat in the widest part. A lot of people put the mattress there then find there lying where the van tapers in and too close to the roof. The mattress was 180cm long and 4ft wide.

@@Baloovanz For someone who has converted over 25 vans I am surprised you get anything to fit. The van measures 1670mm inside. Wall to wall half way up. @@grahamdodsworth2618 Graham i would strongly advise you buy a new tape measure and place it INSIDE the rear quarter panel reveal side to side or figure out how to measure because i assure you that you are completely wrong. Fee free to post a video of you measuring it if you believe otherwise. Not the part where you would screw ply lining to inside from where the rear windows can be placed because that i set the mattress at a height where it sits slightly into the base of them panels. That is why the bed is the same width as the exterior of the van minus around 3mm for the thickness of the sheet metal that sits where you would place rear side windows. The listed exterior width of a vivaro is 1940mm. Everyone who has ever brought a van from me, i have shown this with a tape measure and offered for them to lie on it if they wish - so your “trying to do potential buyers” comment is clearly something you must practice because i show the entire build of every van i sell on youtube so that buyers can see exactly what went into it.
