This is by far the best build that appeals to me the most. Cracking job mate. You've confirmed my decision to go ahead with the vivaro instead of the transporter. Big fan !
@Wheelgooddriving3 жыл бұрын
William Henderson oh that’s great mate thank you for the compliment. Yeah they are very underrated but slightly bigger inside than a transporter, much cheaper to run and parts are hell cheap for these. Great vans.

Wow what an honour. Thank you for that comment, you made my day. I tend to find the lwb vivaro is a great vehicle for a double bed and if the space is utilised well it can really work out. Thanks for watching :)

Wow. That is a beautiful van. We have the same van (2014 model year). I have done some minor conversion to ours. We use the van for short trips and longer holidays but can't sleep in it. We always stayed in caravan park cabins. With the Covid-19, I wish I had put beds in our van, so we don't have to sleep in cabins. You have a new subscriber. I will be watching all your videos.
@Wheelgooddriving3 жыл бұрын
Yes unfortunately Covid has created a lot of issues but is there any reason you couldn’t maybe do a refurb on your van and fit beds?
@DutchAussieProductions3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I could do that, but we are not great campers. I designed our van so that I can quickly convert it to carry a wheelchair or gopher. I can remove the present seats, boxes, etc., in about 20 minutes if I have to. Have a nice day.

Great to see a low-profile van. I'm trying the same myself with a LWB Vivaro. Can you still drive into car park with height barriers? Does the solar panel/roof rack get in the way? Where did you get the solar panel + fittings from? Where are the bars from? Great job! Thanks for sharing!
@Wheelgooddriving2 жыл бұрын
Hi A.P yes it fit in multistorey car parks and even McDonalds drive through!! Nothing ever used to catch! The roof bars where from Van pimps ifnonremember corrextly and the solar panels ebay/fittings amazon. All the best bud.

Hi. I've just come across your vlog. Fantastic van mate. Could I ask ( if you happen to know ) how much wider is the lwb compared to a swb & mwb? Cheers bud.
@Wheelgooddriving2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the positive comment, As far as i know there is no difference in width only in length which is about 30cm longer. It does make a difference though as you can only achieve the width for the bed in the lwb due to the placement of the rear window aperture sizes.

Really nice van, I like the front seats, was they fitted to the original seat frames that bolt to the floor?
@Wheelgooddriving3 жыл бұрын
Hi yes they was with some 5mm flat bar and high tensile bolts. Thanks buddy.
@MonaichFother Жыл бұрын
That looks ideal, a proper matress that you can dive onto & pop the TV on and watch. Not many vans with a loo fitted which is a must or you'll forever be at the mercy of public toilets or join the bears in the woods. Have a look at Car Seat Organiser Back Storage Multi Pocket Tidy Travel Holder Kick Holder Bag on eBay for the back of the passenger seat for a £fiver.

There was a few inches cut off the bottom of the mattress so i used a foam mattress (ikea sell them) to make it easier to trim down under the zipped cover of the foam. Cheers

The internal width at its widest point without any lining ...that's to say original steel to steel is 65.4 inches That's 5.45 feet. So I take it you sleep diagonally corner to corner with your feet hanging over one corner ....

Great job mate, obviously you have done these before. I have a 2011 Vivaro Sportive that I'm almost finished fitting out now. Hey, maybe it's already been asked but I love the idea of having a bed on the width such as yours. However I understand it has to be where the windows should have been. Do you know how high that is from the floor? I'm wondering since I want to know if there is sitting height left from your beds position or not. Thanks you in advance.

The base vehicle has to be the ideal van, add a swivel seat base and it is perfect, not sure about the rest, it's okay. I have a SWB and covert this van, but never in a million years would I lower a van, so much lost in a camper, for an iota of style, cause it isn't about handling....just ridiculous.
@Wheelgooddriving2 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t lowered for handling. It was lowered for looks (arch gap). However, i have to agree on the not lowering it point. The ducato after this i had raised up with off road tyres on and the current one i have built is on standard suspension. I thank you for the constructive feedback as i always value ways in which to grow :)
@allanb522 жыл бұрын
@@Wheelgooddriving I think the Vivaro/Trafic make the best camper...never thought of those Saab seats...Had a 9-5 estate such a comfortable car..could drive all day..must make it so good to drive. What about the electrics, did you get the ECU modified?
@Wheelgooddriving2 жыл бұрын
@@allanb52 no i just wired up the electrical motors to a fused 12v independant supply on a relay to operate from a switched supply. My current one (in my videos) i have fitted Mazda rx8 seats they are comfortable and hug you nice but still can’t beat them Saab 9-5 seats.
