nearly falls apart near the beginning , bar 23; 2 different tempi going on.

This is an achingly beautiful piece. Delicate but substantive, listening to our amazing organist, John Walko rehearse this in anticipation of this Sunday's worship service.

I played this in high school over 50 years ago. To this day I remember most of my part because of practice we put in. Wonderful music.

There are many wonderful violinists around today, it's not about 'favorite recordings,' as everyone has their own interpretation. We live in a world where many violinists are technically wonderful, but each one has their own explanation of how to play a piece, and there is no 'right or wrong' in this. It's a lovely smorgasbord of various pieces to savour and enjoy, without choosing one violinist over the other, just live for the moment and appreciate how the various virtuosos play the same musical piece

I do love Bernstein's interpretation of Brahms's bucolic Second Symphony with the VPO, which is, in my opinion, extremely sublime and spectacular, and this performance of Brahms's Fourth is equally magnificent, too. Thank you very very much for sharing.

21:01 This run ends in one of the most effective bass note additions I've ever heard. That hits like a bang! If this recording was better known, I'm sure many of today's flashy young pianists would take inspiration from this score modification just as they already do with Horowitz's modifications.

I love this performance, but always regret the woefully inadequate BELLS! They really need to be much lower in pitch, obviously. I recall an opera production in which I was involved (orchestra) where some specially tuned railroad ties, long steel ones, were used as bells. I don’t recall the opera, but it seemed to do the trick effectively. Just a thought.

Hunding singt irgendwie-irgendwo🤔. Die ganze Zeit finde ich Noten, die weder rhythmisch noch im Vergleich zum Originalmaterial\Notentext von Wagner nicht genau ausgeführt sind. Sehr seltsam...
