9:05 What do these kids today know bout dat Caves of Androzani? Indeed, I have seen those eps. By the time the Eccleston series was set to premiere, I was already a Whovian with over a decade of sci-fi Friday nights on Iowa Public Television under my absurdly long kaleido-scarf and, given that was still during the Dark Age, had long since accepted the fact that me and me best friend were never going to see the day when The Doctor would be once more running for dear life, and only we would ever know or remember our quirky little no budget UK sci-fi show, let alone discuss it with anyone besides one another. The idea of Doctor Who being of any use whatsoever in the pulling of birds would have seen you laughed out of the room, having solicited from us both the sort of humorous howling that would have reminded the listener of the booming laughter for which the late great Brian Blessed was well known for projecting. "HAHAHAHAHA! Doctor Who? Will help me to get laid in the future? That is some Python caliber absurdist comedy, right there. While you're at it, let me know when Elvis shows up, too, pal."
4:08 I only know 3 gay guys, and 2 out of them are anti immigrants, transphobe and generally bad persons, however, I strongly believe this is just bad luck on my side

Marla’s famous quote is a reference to pederasty among gay men that still occurs today
No. I don’t think you read the book. If pat Bateman had those thoughts it would have been extremely clear in the book. He speaks to himself the whole movie. He doesn’t kill Luis because he is having a panic attack due to previous events. He stares at himself because of his pride. He’s just a sociopath. He follows his primal instincts. Wanting men is not primal

The bomb in the van is clearly a reference to a pair of breasts, and the narrator is unsure of what to do with them without Tyler's help... There's undeniably huge themes around the narrators romantic loneliness and inability to find connection.

I laughed out loud about the Go Fund Me (or Kickstarter? I don't remember) to cover the marketing of Part III. Because I literally had no idea there was a Part III until I watched this now two-years-old video. So they really spent that money wisely, I guess. (Haven't watched any of these movies. I was just curious how they had a sequel that started with a completely fresh cast... and then apparently they did it again as if to break a record or something. I mean, if I had a nickel for every time a sequel started out with a completely new cast, I'd have two nickels-- which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Right?) I had always assumed the first film adapted the first half of the book, because that's how cult leaders adapt giant tomes by their dead cult leader (see also the Scientology-funded "Battlefield Earth" by some guy named Ron). So if there's too little material here to warrant a trilogy, then the antidote to this trilogy is definitely Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," a film with far, far too much ambition and crammed with far too many unrelated ideas for its modest runtime of 2 hrs 18 mins. I don't know if it was intended to be a response to "The Fountainhead," but it has the most unselfish architect who wants to redesign the entire city to benefit all. It's batshit insane, overly indulgent in soooo many ways, but I felt I got my money's worth. It's the opposite of a movie made by a cult: It's a movie that will likely develop a cult following.

To add to this, I wanna point out how the movies that Patrick constantly plays in his apartment are either gorey horror movies or pornography. It seems like a type of self brainwashing tactic he uses on himself to affirm his heterosexuality: he can't be gay if he's watching straight adult films, he can't be gay if he projects onto the strong masculine figures in horror movies that overpower people, etc. There's a lot to discuss about him and his behaviors.

Cybermen play heavily on body horror and the _Cybernetics Eat Your Soul_ trope. They make for a very scary premise on those grounds, but the writers make emotions have too much importance. Person gets turned into a cyberman, and "have their emotions removed/inhibited" and suddenly they become overwhelmed with the drive to convert others to Cybermen... a notable exceptions being Yvonne, who maintained her loyalty to Earth post-conversion, Danny and Bill. And when they do get their emotions back, they all go utterly nuts and self-destruct because they can't handle having become a machine with a human brain in it - which reeks more of "we wanted a way to immobilise a lot of Cybermen quickly and 'reverse the polarity of the neutron flow in the emotion inhibitors' seemed a simple solution" than a reasoned approach. When it comes to Cybermen, "emotions" do a lot of heavy lifting. Not only are they the kryptonite to all cyberforms that therefore must be purged to ensure the Cybermen don't freak out and explode, they are the sole reason why humans have any loyalty at all and removing them turns "good ol' Joe next door" into a machine that will hand you over for processing or, if you refuse, shoot you down in cold blood. I get it, they need to have a way that people switch allegiance to the Cybermen on conversion, but that doesn't have to be the "emotion inhibitor" - it could be some sort of programming that forces the converts to follow orders. And if they want a way to kill off a lot of Cybermen, they could come up with a better idea than "we forced them to confront what they had become". I'd love to see an episode where someone gets captured by the Cybermen and converted and one of the existing Cybermen says "we have removed your fear" to which the new convert says "Correct. I no longer fear you," and proceeds to wipe out all the Cybermen surrounding them, rejoins his companions in battling the invading Cybermen: "my loyalty to my friends is based on more than just emotions..."

He literally gets off torturing and murdering women. When he kills men he just kills them he doesn't torture them or do stuff with the body afterwards. I dont really see how anyone can make the case hes a closeted homosexual, maybes a hes a bit bi theres the bit in the book where he gets a boner over Bono but he literally devotes his whole life to fulfilling his sexual desire to hurt and dismember women. At the end of the film the book of his sexual fantasises is just women being raped and slaughtered, thats what turns him on the most cleary. In the books we see his inner monologue so if he was having sexual thoughts about men we would see them. I think the. bit where he gets a boner over bono is more an indication hes losing his mind than anything

I want to point out that just as American conservatives misnaming all left wing politics as liberal politics has damaged the concept of traditional liberalism as per the Age of Enlightenment, so too has western conflation of anything vaguely conservative as ‘far right’ devalued the concept of extremism, leading to the polarized world we currently inhabit in the west. There is no concept of coexisting as long as left wing activists continue to embrace their own extremism and project it onto their opponents to delegitimize and dehumanize them. And brands like doctor who, Disney Star Wars and other so called ‘woke-ism’ brands do nothing but reinforce the idea of the radical left being correct and inflating their sense of unearned moral superiority.

"TROS = Kylo's idea of killing the past in an incredibly shallow and meaningless way all while still absolutely upholding the past" Wow just when I thought I'd heard everything anyone had to say about these movies, you struck gold. Same with how Poe could've completely replaced Rose in Finn's subplot. Like I knew a Finn and Poe plot would've been superior but didn't think it'd be that easy to just plug Poe into the Canto Bight thing. What a relief it is also to see a video made (somewhat) recently about my favorite star wars movie that ISN'T just full of childish fanboy/rabid anti-shipper takes. Bravo dude

One of the aspects of the original "Star Wars" - yes, that was its *entire* name. The "A nEw HoPe" nonsense wasn't appended on until much later - "Star Wars" was a stand-alone movie until it was obvious it made major bank and then HELLO *SEQUELS!!* But anyhow, in "Star Wars", "the Force" is something that *everyone, ANYONE* can access. There is no birthright requirement as introduced in the prequels with their ridiculous "midichlorians" - GTFOHWT. Because with the "midichlorians", NOW it's just something for the elite to play around with and the rest of us can just go pound sand, can't we?? While making sure we properly admire and applaud, of course, because they're worth SO much more than *we* are. The "midichlorians" concept was a HUGE mistake - it ruined the Force and turned it into just more royal families.

One hypothesis is that Marla is also just a figment of The Narrator's fragmented, fractured psyche - she's yet another aspect of himself. Notice, for example, how in the final scene, when she and The Narrator (Tyler Durden) are standing hand in hand in the darkened office space, their silhouettes are virtually mirror images of each other. Also, I thought he shot himself through the side of the neck, like the exit wound was just under his ear or something, rather than the cheek, but who am I to quibble?? Great video. I had to stop it every x seconds to read all the inserts (hilarious). Good stuff. Yeah, it's extremely gay. The kind of gay you can see from space.
@86onionz8 күн бұрын
Bob and his bitch tits like to complain about his two kids not calling him right? Well both of his kids are Marla and Tyler because Bob is a figment of the narrators imagination. So when you think about it, the narrator is in love with Bob's kids, who happened to fuck each other which is incest but the narrator is in love with both that he created so does that mean it's one big incest family?
