For those wondering, you can’t get Wang Chuqin’s exact racket. His Q968 is probably the most customized racket in the world by far, every single stat is fitted to his style. The racket broken by that Korean reporter at Paris 2024 is estimated to have a market price of over 10 000$

For reboosting I usually peel the rubber and if the old glue is smooth on the sponge the apply one layer of boost over that (no extra glue on the rubber). I wait 6-12 hrs for booster to dry then I apply one layer of glue to the paddle and glue it back on. You can also remove old glue from the rubber and then apply booster. @kokoshtet
@kokoshtet 6 күн бұрын
@@GravitySix-G6 yes it’s good to take breaks. Right now, I only play about 2-3 times a week for about 2 hrs each time. The coaches don’t really practice anymore, they only coach students and maybe practice with someone near their level once or twice a month. However when you are still developing try to play as much as you can with fewer days of rest. There was a period of time when I played every single day. Thanks for these videos. They are super valuable. I like this 'inside out' style of hitting, but I feel like it only works with Chinese rubbers. With tenergy/dignics, the ball just flies over the table because of the catapult and high throw angle; it requires a closed angle and 'covering' the ball to keep it down. Highly possible that it's just my problem lol. Future video idea: have Kai try a blade with Tenergy 05 on it and see if his stroke works 😀

The time you have with the coach is never enough to fix technique. You have to shadow practice and train hundreds of hours to actually change the muscle memory. That's why it can be better to take 1 lesson and then only work on 1 thing at a time.

I am a low-level professional and a coach as well. Here's an unorthodox coaching technique for this that I have come up with: Hold the racket with a penhold grip. Practice your midrange forehands for several days in a row like that. Don't hit any forehands shakehands in that time either. This will force you to use decent forehand technique basically no matter what. Hopefully, after doing this for several days without switching back, your brain will have the fundamentals ingrained in it. Then, just keep making your muscles do the same thing shakehands as you were doing penhold. Don't think about anything else. You will take a bit to start hitting it accurately. But, just stay with the muscle movements. You will end up with a great forehand technique.

The only thing that for you sometimes might come to a gray area is since you have a lot of coaches, then some of their techniques/style might diverse from one another. FH close to the table is also something I'm trying to implement more. Now this with the "inside-out" hitting I never heard before but sounds interesting. This was super interesting, especially the grip with focus on the pinky and ring finger -as that nuance is something i always wondered about and was trying out different grip techniques over last year or two-is there any way to elaborate on it any further(either yourself or with Kai in the future video?)Was there a part (in Aiming section) where Kai was explaining how to go about aiming as if you should focus on those two fingers and lead (mentally) by them, could also that be elaborated? The dominant foot is also super interesting as ,again, i wondered if im always doing that wrong since it felt bit more natural to me too. Overall this very specific small things are extremely useful, especially for starting players or also bit advanced who are still in stage of how to hold the bat properly/what fingers to involve/where should those fingers be on the racket/what to focus on when gripping and hitting. Please if there is any space for elaborating on these things, that would be an extremely interesting video. Thank you for this one already !

@@no044 hey thanks for watching! There’s a lot to unpack here so let me see if I can answer everything. Grip- nothing more I can add here, it’s really to make sure you have a secure hold on your paddle so that the head of the paddle doesn’t shake when you make contact with the ball. Aiming - the only thing I would add is in addition to using your left hand, try to still contact the ball in a triangle in front of your body (not sure if you’ve heard this saying before but it’s a common advice given to find the hitting point)
@omeletshakya

@@kokoshtet hey Koko, really appreciating the free information sharing here as lessons are so expensive, and people seem to like to "keep" their secrets. I am also curious about grip, and what u have learned from various coaches. I always had a super backhand oriented grip which made FH paddle angle too open often, and was recently told to learn to switch between FH and BH grips but am finding it really hard. I was also told not to pinch the thumb and index, as doing so opens the paddle angle too much on the forehand. But now FH grip feels more like your coach talking here that all fingers are important rather than just focusing on index/thumb. so yeah, curious on your thoughts on all this (finger pressure for different grips, switching FH/BH grips, etc).
@kokoshtet
@kokoshtet 16 күн бұрын
@@omeletshakya thanks for watching! And yes happy to share advice. I’d like to add that the lessons I post are tailored towards me and I would still recommend taking a lesson when you can so a coach can assess how you play. As for the grip - this will actually be different for everyone (our hand sizes are all different) so you need to find something comfortable for you. I have a fairly average to larger hand size. Some people do switch their grip between fh and bh and they get used to making these switches pretty quickly. I don’t think you should have a huge change though just to make your transition quicker. I hold my paddle the way I showed in the video. And for the grip I do make contact with all my fingers but more of the pressure comes from thumb, index finger and pinky. Imagine that you can still hit the ball if your middle finger wasn’t wrapped around the handle. I make slight adjustment with my thumb between fh and bh but the only change is I extend my thumb more on the rubber for bh. Hard to explain over text but I hope this makes sense hahaha
