Very good video! For future lessons have you considered working more on your BH? Seems like the strokes are a bit inconsistent and your elbow goes toward too much when it should be use more as a rotational axis. (Not that I’m a BH expert but i would be curious on his tips for your BH)

Yes backhand was a weak point for me for a while and in the next lesson I plan to work on backhand against different spins. I recently changed my equipment and it’s been helping more with my strokes. This video was recorded before the change

i would be very interested in how to correctly transition from learning the forehand drive to forehand loop(or topspin). In theory the forehand loop should be an extension of the forehand drive. but noone ever explained what parts of forehand drive should stay the same and what should be added to reach a good forehand loop. so how do (especially chinese kids) learn this step? going from forehand drive to forehand loop correctly.

The coach also mentions not to lift the elbow? but when i watch chinese players their elbow seems far away from the body? Im confused by this. Where is the ideal position for elbow and how to get it there?

I have another video about this coming soon, but my problem is that my elbow is flaring out sideways when I contact the ball sometimes, but this is an issue I personally have from bad habits when I was younger. The elbow can come away from the body as long as it’s going forward, not sideways and up (think of making a bird flapping their wings motion- if that’s happening, then it’s bad). The other thing I noticed is to keep your shoulders relaxed and initiate the loop with your legs/hips first and it should help
