What was that callapsing at 0:16 ? Was that what they call a void?
@rollincoal62773 жыл бұрын
There are feeders under the pile that dump onto a conveyor belt. That's a void from the coal running into the feeder faster than the packed coal above it can fall.

@@rollincoal6277 wow ok so you guys are pushing right over top the draw hole, You guys don’t worry about it pulling the coal from where your passing?

Eight hours with no throttle lock in this machine and I can barely walk my knee hurts so bad. Great videos on machines on the coal pile.
@mattaustin701210 ай бұрын
I know it’s been 3 years, but a quick tip is that I adjust the air seat so that gravity holds my foot down. That means I only have to make effort to remove throttle, but leaving my foot on the throttle is essentially my neutral mode which reduces effort.

many shifts doing same thing. when coal was not being shipped to washer plant, and long wall was running good coal had to be pushed away to prevent stacker from blocking out shutting slope belt down along with all coal production. when long wall was running good and no coal was being shipped i have ate lunch while pushing.

These things are climbing beast. I had to reclaim a pile last week that the stack out guy was kind enough to not leave a ramp on at all. He squared up to the edge and let her eat 😂

Must not be a big operation for your shiploader to be on the same channel as the dozer operators. Or where you scanning when you shouldn't have been :D

like a rolls royce the only thing you hear is the wiper LOL seems very quiet with some good head phones and bluegrass music ?? how long does one scoop /push last ??
@rollincoal62777 жыл бұрын
It depends on the size of the pile. Making a long push on this pile from the toe can take 3 to 4 minutes, plus about 2 more in reverse.

It's kinda a crying shame to dump good dry coal on the ground and have Mother Nature rain and snow on it. I work at a Power Plant. Then the manager doesn't want wet coal in the plant because of issues. Da! My reply, I didn't make that decision 40 yrs. ago! Thanks for sharing man!!

Curtis Bay coal yard, you hardly see these bright Orange engines up close. The mother had the cab heavily modified and the controls are remote or a standing platform.

Why doesn't the surge pile just dump on top the feeder?
@rollincoal62777 жыл бұрын
It is dumping on top of the feeders. The coal from the tower can only reach about 4 feeders on its own.

It has a 3412 in it. Basically the same motor as a D10N/R. The D9N that followed had a smaller motor which was the 3408.

quick question.....we run F's, G's and H's. The G's and H's have good visibility in reference to the front tires (especially helpful at night to make sure you aint eating rubber). How is the visibility with the new K as far as the fronts go? Thanks and btw...love the look of the new K....ran almost (4400 hr) 980K yesterday.....still in shock....lol.

You would be surprised at how much of a slope those dozers can work on.
@200nick25 жыл бұрын
Our D10's will climb at most a 33 degree slope. But the center of gravity on these bulldozers is so down low that its next to impossible to roll one of these things over. Its awesome.

It would be really neat to see more cold starts from you, especially with machines that need throttle input to start when cold, if you could show the whole procedure... not just the gauges. For instance, if something needs foot throttle, show what you're doing with it on camera.
@200nick25 жыл бұрын
There is surprisingly very little to it with these bulldozers. Just crank and go. They have an automatic Ether injection system if its too cold.
