Yes it is a masterpiece. The Lion King as one of Disney’s famous franchises starting with the 1994 film is a masterpiece indeed mainly because of the iconic characters including Simba, Nala, Scar/Taka (The franchise’s main villain), Timon, Pumbaa (Meerkat and Warthog duo and comic reliefs), Mufasa, Sarabi, Sarafina, Banzai, Shenzi and Ed l, Zazu the Tanzanian red-billed hornbill bird, and the mandrill monkey shaman Rafiki, The African continent and its music by Hans Zimmer and Lebo M, The animation (Produced by Wang Film Productions), The Shakespearean theme and storyline based on Hamlet, the adult and mature dark tone and tragedy, the biblical references to Joseph and Moses and Christianity. I recommend it very much!

As a lion king fan myself Kenneth 2019 lion king remake maybe has bad qualities compared to the 1994 original of the iconic franchise but I do like the photorealistic cgi on the animals provided by the London/British-based visual effects company and animation studio Moving Picture Company (MPC for short who also did its recently released prequel and sequel Mufasa:The Lion King that came out yesterday, Sonic, some of the MCU/Marvel Cinematic Universe films and other films and television shows) are very beautiful to look at same with the landscape, the music by Hans Zimmer (Who did the music for the 1994 original animated movie) and the voice cast are all great and I don’t hate either. Plus I’ve been a diehard lion king fan since I was 3 because I love Africa (The franchise is set in exclusively), its music, animals, culture, Shakespearean stories and its people.
