You know despite this game's shortcomings (the story being the biggest disappointment most of the time), i will never be able to deny their is something SPECIAL about this game and its sequel. Just the atmosphere and the vibes this game gives off. Its a real shame the devs could never reach the true potential of what they were doing. This artstyle has undeniably established itself in the gaming landscape forever. Their is a REASON people beg for an HD 2D remake of the old Final Fantasy's in THIS STYLE. It's amazing how magical the world of Octopath has become from it. And it deserves to be recognized as highly as it is. I hope whatever third game may or may not come out will be able to reach higher than even these two games already have.

How can you defeat such powerful bosses with such low-level equipment and characters? Do bosses also suffer from a nerf equally at the level of travelers? Because it was very difficult for me having Olberic, Ophilia, Primrose, Alfyn at level 50 to defeat the final bosses :(

idk if this is common knowledge but when using path actions you can skip their little quip by like using steal and then scrolling to another path action then exit and you'd skip the dialogue

dafak. I couldn't even beat this boss after playing 60+ hours. And this guy just easily beat it in an hour. Insane dude!

I love the variety of party comps in this speedrun; besides Martial Artist, every Class contributes in at least one major way. Even Tactician of all classes gets to be MVP for the M+N gauntlet. It's cool seeing the game's main design philosophy of mix n' matching Classes be represented in the speedrun too, compared to something like XC2 which pushes so many Blades on you but the speedrun is 95% Crossette... at least until Unlimited Sword, which makes the last few fights pretty samey (though using Troubador Lucky 7 against Z is still pretty creative). It's also neat how important the Interlink Lv3 chains are, in a casual playthrough there's literally no reason to use them, but the consistency and higher short-term damage are a godsend.
