*DO NOT ATTEMPT WHAT YOU SEE IN THIS VIDEO.* As much as people hate this topic, I am a firm believer of providing venomous snakes with enrichment. No matter what their capabilities are, they are now in our captive care and should not just be thrown in a cage and “left alone”. I get my Gaboon Vipers out at least 2-3 times per week. Especially while they are still juveniles, I feel that this positively affects their temperament. This not a fact, but my own personal OPINION based off of what I experience with my animals.

Hi I love your content but you are contradicting yourself. You said in a previous video that for your first snake ever if you knew about blood pythons before you got your ball python you would have went with a blood python.
@SavageryReptiles2 ай бұрын
@@Pastor_Steel Not sure what the contradicting statement was. My personal preference are Blood Pythons, so for me, they make perfect pets. For one that may not like their size or their defensive nature as juveniles, their opinion may be different than mine. What makes a great pet, is keeper to keeper base
@Pastor_Steel2 ай бұрын
@SavageryReptiles when you did the interview with Elijah over at Juggernaut. You said and I quote. After I got my ball python if I knew about a blood python that would of been my first snake instead of a ball python.
@SavageryReptiles2 ай бұрын
@@Pastor_Steel Again, that would have been my personal decision. While Ball Pythons may be easier to keep for some people and more interesting, I was more drawn to Blood Pythons. Keeper to keeper basis

@SavageryReptiles3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I got this one from a reputable breeder in South Carolina. You can find em at expos, but without a proper permit (if needed), the breeders won’t sell to you. Even if you don’t need a permit in the state, breeders are still picky about who they sell to at expos.

Good video and I agree, if you're willing to put in the work, they make amazing pets. A lot of people often start off by keeping them wrong, like Ball Pythons and you can't do that. The fastest way to make a Blood Python defensive, is keeping them too warm. Bloods like it a little cooler than most other pythons, with their hot spot being around 80 to 85, depending on the individual and age. I have six, have had them for over 4 years now, with Achilles being my first, I got him in 2018 and with them being 5 to 7 years old, ive noticed they like it at only about 80 degrees now. They are also more intelligent than most people realize and you can't rush them or keep them how you want, you have to keep them how they like to be kept and by nature, they are pretty much a shy, secretive, and fossorial species. I'll never own any other species, except bloods, they are just so amazing and incredible.

You have to commit. If you touch a defensive blood then pull your hand away cuz you get scared…. For get about it 😂😂 but if you follow through they don’t have as much time to zero in on your hand

Facts! The more time you dwell in their presence without doing what you initially wanted to do, the more time they have to hone in on you and possibly strike.

Another slice of fried gold young man 🌟. When I was a kid, my spiciest snake was a kingsnake 😂. We handle all of snakes daily, except for the day before feeding and 2 days after. We even handle them when they are in shed. We only purchase babies and handle them from the time we purchase them. We always use the scoop method when we pick them up, and we always work to remove head shyness. If you have to take them to a vet, you don't want a head shy snake. We also provide exercise and free roam time for them. Keep up the excellent videos. Unfortunately, we don't use social media very much. Take care, guys.👊🏾🪖🇺🇸✝️

Man snakes make you have patience for sure if you handle them the right way! I almost fall asleep when I handle my old ball python 😂. Even putting him back in his enclosure the other night he just stopped going in halfway 😂. I usually let him go on in on his own. After a couple minutes I was like bro come on 😂 cause he was just chilling halfway in the enclosure and the other half was still in my hands outside the enclosure

Another solid video, young man. My wife and I have been into snakes for almost 40 years. The biggest problem we see is new owners who want to treat snakes like a novelty/showpiece. Example. We were at our local reptile expo, and a potential buyer asked a retic breeder what would happen if he just fed the snake and didn't handle him for months. The breeder said you most likely will get bit. He didn't sell him the retic. Some new owners are not willing to put in the research and time like you. Take care.👊🏾🪖🇺🇸✝️³

I always look forward to your comments🙌🏾! I’m happy to hear that the breeder didn’t sell him the retic. Shows that he cares about his snakes over a quick dollar. You and your wife, do you guys have any social media platforms where you post your snakes? I’d love to give you guys a follow
