You disrespect residents of the DC area by using such a lame term as "DMV." It's embarrassing, really. Since your channel is really just about Northern Virginia, you should have named it "Northern Virginia Adventures" or "NoVA Adventures." But then again, your channel is less about having an adventure than making a commercial.

Do you have to tip the attendants?
@DMVAdventures2 күн бұрын
I think you’re supposed to. I gave the guy $20 on the first trip, and then the second trip I had run out of cash on my trip to New York, so I was asking them if I could Venmo them money and they just said no so I didn’t leave a tip. I think $10-$20. Seems like decent tip. But I don’t think half the customers leave a tip.

So they reheat the pizza slices in an oven? You mean like EVERY pizza spot? 😂 Tony's is better.
@DMVAdventures9 күн бұрын
Whenever I order Tony's pizza, I put the slices in my toaster oven when I get home. Try that with a hot Tony's pizza. It is amazing. Tony's is my goto full pie. The problem with the slices at Tonys is that they sit out there all day. At Andy's there are so many customers the slices come out hot like every few minutes. They use the toaster oven to make the pizza crispier. But the slices are usually stilll pretty fresh. You can tell by looking. The slices at tony's just look, old.

While I have never been that Vienna Inni is super pale looking. It would take a lot to dethrone Bens.
@DMVAdventures10 күн бұрын
The hot dog itself is not great. Ben's plain hot dog is 1 million times better than the Vienna Inn hot dog. I'll eat 1 million half smokes with onions. However The chili at vienna inn is the thing that makes the dogs (and the cheese most people also add). I'm not a fan of the chili at Bens. Its more street chili, while Vienna is more ground beefy chili. So best hot dog, not Vienna Inn. But best Chili Dog. Its my favorite over Bens, Hard Times and Weenie Beenie.

I keep coming back to the State Theater because it's so close to Arlington, has great shows and decent prices with free parking. Plus they don't charge extra for the balcony.
@DMVAdventures10 күн бұрын
Love the State Theater. I once saw comedy there for like $5. Been to maybe 10 cover bands there and some private events. May have even watched a Redskins game there back in the day I think they had a big screen or something. Oh and during Covid they had movies outdoors in the parking lot.

DMV Adventures, I love your vidoes! I always watch them to find new activities to do on the weekends with friends and family. There are some fun activities in the DMV that I don’t think you made videos on. I recommend checking out Dumbarton Oaks, Hillwood museum estate and Gardens, Neabsco Creek Boardwalk, Leesylvania state park, Huntley Meadows, or O museum in the mansion. If you are willing to venture out more past the DMV, I recommend checking out Old rag mountain, Chesapeake Beach, Charlottesville, or Gettysburg. There are also plenty of seasonal activities in the DMV. Let me know if you need more ideas!
@DMVAdventures25 күн бұрын
Going through your suggestions: Dumbarton - That and the Washington Monument are my 2 top places in DC. (I just have to get out that way) Huntley Meadows - Been on the list, I've actually done that but never finished filming, thinking thats a spring one Leesylvania - thinking about how to make it exciting. Maybe fishing or something. I have free access but always think it will be boring. Neabsco Boardwalk - def great footage there, I have some awesome shots already, def need to do this, also a spring one I think. Chesapeake Beach - I have an adventure from 1 year ago that I haven't posted yet and tons of footage. All the other ones are good too so you may see them in the future. The winter is tough, I end up doing too many restaurants which are boring. So for December, I'm going to do Ice Skating and Christmas stuff I think. Gotta find Jan/Feb stuff.

Nice. I used to love the Vienna Inn for lunch in the 80s and 90s. Lunch would turn into a couple hours of excessive chili mac and Budweiser consumption/ We got our kegs from them also. Miss that place as well as Anita's, Knossos, and Bonarati's.

The hot dogs themselves aren't good. I' could never eat a plain one. Somehow the chili covers up all of that. At the end of the dog, some is usually sticking out of the bun, so I never eat that part. Only eat if it is covered by Bread and Chili.

There were about 10 spots I almost included but realized this video was already long and expensive enough lol. Falls Church needs a Part 2. I didn't even technically include Banh Mi DC, I need to include Pho 75 (may save for Arlington the original location), Fanny's is Bolivian which I don't like Saltenas but thats their specialty. Plus the breweries.
