I love this! That’s my daughter playing the younger Zora as a child and my niece as Zora friend.

I’m so fortunate to have been part of the 1991 cast of, “HOUSE OF FLOWERS,” directed by Geoffrey Holder, starring Patti LaBelle, his wife Carmen De Lavallade, Christian Holder & some incredible upcoming Broadway actors. The experience was a live history lesson from a legendary-all around artist, that Geoffrey was. Great memories!

So she was 26 in the 10th grade? Wow. This just goes to show that you can do whatever you want at any time in life and we shouldn’t tease anyone.

I visited her gravesite in Ft. Pierce, FL several times to place flowers there. Living in Vero Beach I felt the need to honor her in some way. I do the same for Travon Martin’s crypt. He is entombed in the same graveyard as my mother.

Valerie Boyd's Wrapped in Rainbows is one of the most comprehensive bios on Zora Neale Hurston. To see her commentary in this piece speaks volumes.

The fact that this documentary doesn't have at least a million views and comments is criminal. This man was brilliant. A true creative force in entertainment and Photojournalism. He inspired me to pick up a camera. Glad I did too. 💯💯💯

This was such a gem. One of my favorite parts was beginning at the 29:58 mark and an author named Al Murray was speaking about how art is about how it feels to be a human being without representative figures of it, for it is what you see, and it involves the human feelings as the raw materials itself.

Lester wonderman was Jewish and it is interesting that this video does not touch much on the dogon creation story which predates the story of the Jewish nation by thousands of years indeed the Jewish religion and people's are explained by dogon cosmology and thus demoted Judaism from the preeminent position Judaism and Christianity claims for themselves. The dogon cosmology is perhaps the ground zero of all world religions
