Thank you very much for this two videos. Very instructive. I didn't know all the development behind the yellow colour. Very interesting. I own a spanish Jeep C101 Comando that came from factory with Cibié IODE 35. I always wanted a classic car with these fantastic yellow glass lights and I think they adds a very attractive look to the car.

@banpeinet Жыл бұрын
The AE85 and AE86 are from the same E80 Corolla/Sprinter generation. The AE85 is a cheaper version without the twin cam engine. It is still a potent car though as it shares the body and suspension, so a lot of people have swapped the engine over the past decades.
@nzuncovered1845 Жыл бұрын
@@banpeinet Ok, I thought maybe some of these cars you covered here were AE85s. I think they have weaker diff and drive shafts too and I was told they didn't come with 2 tone paint job
@banpeinet Жыл бұрын
@@nzuncovered1845 There is one ae85 I covered in this video, and that's the SR model. It does have a different rear axle, diff and drive shafts and it does indeed lack the panda paint. The pre-facelift versions of the Sports Package didn't include the AE85. However, the facelift (kouki) version did have a Sports Package that would upgrade the standard SR with semi-two-tone-paint on the top of the bumpers, a rear spoiler and the bucket-type GT seats.

3:56 A little bit of fun fact. The picture below of the Honda City Turbo II is known as the "FA" by fans and it's not the only generation of the Honda City. There's a not widely known obscure second gen version of the City called the "GA City" which is is a much more modern looking car and almost looks like it's successor the "Today" so that probably caused some confusion in same cases. There's an article about that on wapcar "The missing link - The forgotten second-gen Honda City". Thanks for your video it's really entertaining and cool series as a petrolhead, manga collector and as a Kosuke Fujishima fan of course (I have a manga lot of Oh! My Goddess! and You're Under Arrest The Wild Ones and Lights and Sirens by Dark Horse). Keep up the good work!

Hallo Hallo, Yep. ( was 2 jaar airbrushen :)

I just found this great video while looking for some info on vintage Marchal lights...do you know the manufacture date ranges of the rectangular Marchal lights? specifically 740, 840, 940 and 740, 850, 950..especially the 859 clear lens driving lights. Trying to find the 'age appropriate' ones for my 70's VW bus.
@banpeinet2 жыл бұрын
I unfortunate don't have that information. I know the 850 series became available in the late 1960s to the early 1970s and was for sale till well into the 1980s. You could beat reach out to Mistermarchal on Instagram as he would definitely know this. He's a also active in Facebook and Twitter if you don't have Instagram.

I think it was in about the mid eighties, when I purchased two new SEV MARCHAL AMPILUX replacement headlights for my SUZUKI LJ80 4WD . I needed some good lights for night driving in the Australian outback. I regret to this day that I allowed myself to be talked into selling these, only to find out that SEV MARCHAL was no more. Now these were headlights, not ancillary lights. They were drop in replacements for standard 7 inch round headlights. The optics were state of the art. They had lead crystal lenses and separate precision reflectors for high and low beams. The high beam reflector was nestled in front of the low beam and was independently adjustable. They were absolutely incredible. The low bean had a wide spread, great for watching out for kangaroos that have a habit of jumping out in front of your vehicle and going postal on your radiator and anything else it can get it’s paws on before hopefully clearing the windscreen and landing unceremoniously behind you as the vehicle careers off into the scrub, leaving you stranded in the the middle of the desert where the temperature would climb to 48 degrees Celsius the next day and there was little chance of someone coming along to offer you a lift. And while the temperature plummets back again to minus 8 degrees you start to wonder why you just didn’t stay in bed and you start thinking things like, What the f#*k is Australia anyway ? Am I getting sidetracked? Oh yea, a wide spread and a very sharp upper cutoff to protect oncoming drivers or emus or whatever. the high beams however were something else. Everything in front of the vehicle was lit up like daylight for over 1600 metres (1 mile) down the track. To this day I have never seen automotive lights that could come close to the SEV MARCHAL AMPILUX.

In an effort to recommence the honing I decided to install some sev marchal headlights but it still didn't start, I'm not happy.
