I've just recently been introduced to the backrooms and I am very intriguiged by the whole concept. I've subscribed because I really enjoy the content. I've heard the theory that the dad is the Still Life entity after his home no clipped. You see a boot stuck in the floor where the ankle is ripped off and bloody footprints leading out. If you notice the entity's feet and the way it runs it looks like it's missing a foot. You also notice a small child's clothes are strewn around the entrance leading to the house and in the picture on the wall you see the dad with one of his boys sitting on his shoulder and the picture falls off the wall as his home no clips. We know time is distorted so maybe the dad has been in the backrooms long enough to start tranforming into a creature. Nice cat too, btw.

"We'll be cleaning things up..." That snippet of dialogue suggests two thoughts: 1. Monsanto exec - the one Ravi referenced at the beginning of FF3 - this would be the exec talking about the situation Ravi was outlining. 2. The landlord Ravi was speaking to at his house before he no-clipped - "clean things up" referencing the downstairs sliding glass door that got broken as the landlord was trying to get the property re-rented after Ravi's disappearance.

The reasercher at 2:15 is actually refering to the red rope scene at 22:50 since in pitfalls we see one of Marvin's crew use a pulley to make the red rope and if you're wondering what the green one is it's the caution tape in pitfalls to and like the hazmat said use red one only since green one can't reach and the hazmat is just saying it's limited.

Late to this video! but the whole interaction between Ravi and the father on the other side is by far the most interesting thing in that video! I think that Ravi accidentally lured the father to a thin zone where he then fell into the backrooms. All the things Ravi sees on the way into the blue house (The footprints and things moved within the house) are the father's doing. I think time works weirdly and I think the father fell into that same space BEFORE Ravi ever lured him there.

That finger carrot thing is actually a complete myth.

I honestly think that the blue house in FF3 is mentioned in "I remember" cuz it described as home swalowed by the sea, but its just stupid, but here's my conclusion After Peter's death in Damage Control someone made the video as althe memory video of him and these appeared to be the secret home archive from FF2 link where was shown Peter's house and probably he's favourite painting of the horsewoman,cuz it was zoomed at the end of the video, and backrooms hold by this video recreated the home in the complex as it was shown in FF2, after Bacteria's pursuit (which i think used to be James Esmail, cuz in Missing persons and I remember was mentioned that he's gone missing with orange Chevrolet caprice which looks similar to the broken car and it's assumed thats Bacteries were James) Madison ran into the unstable area, which were about as i think to expand or Async found out how to take control over the complex expanding and Madison appeared in Async base.After Async employee got the footage,they found out that the appartment in the footage are similar to Peter's real house and also discovered the origin of the living form.Because it was shown before in FF1 and FF2 that the complex copying some of the Async Research institute building parts, and they started to expand the complex, by the recreating the real places and even upgrading them in different ways as it was shown in FF3 and from probably edgy expanding (i don't know just the guess) something really bad happened and the blue home (maybe it would be real home) as the consequences, maybe the home nocliped into the complex and it would possibly connected to the random house in real world, or its a recreation if the real one, but in my theory thats the home is real and nocliped into the complex, that's explain why the white door leads to nowhere near the null zone and its explains why it so good detailed, and after that the employee records the tape about the home "swallow down by the sea" which maybe can explain how the house appeared in the complex, because it was shown in this series in the shot of the boat, for the employee it seemed that the sea which would be probably the reflection of the wall of the backrooms dimension which were collided with reality were swallowed

It looked to be a room where that dead guy noclipped in which would explain all the books pointing towards the middle. And I’m not sure why only the dad followed the man (Ravi) after possibly encountering him maybe he was a victim to bacteria faster because of his open wounds unlike his sons who didn’t lose their foot hopefully… However there is proof my theory is wrong but also right Wrong: After Ravi closes the door the door doesn’t lock you just need to use the handle that’s all. The monster knocks on the door and attempts to knock it down originally my main evidence to fight this theory was that the room that which the monster was in would’ve been very dark and hard to see the handle. But this easily gets defeated because when Ravi closes another door there is light on both sides and all the monster had to do was just use the handle instead he knocks it down again. Right If the monster is missing a part of its foot it might hurt really bad to stand upright which could the main reason it prefers to crawl it only stands up when really needed like walking to turn on a light switch (which is also proof that just because it doesn’t know how to use a door handle it can still use a light switch which is just as simple as using a door handle.) Since the monster had to jump up to get over that thing at 19:32 it could’ve caused it to scream in pain because of it or possibly it was a form of communication which was instead turned into a yell And it clearly makes efforts to try to speak to Ravi saying “come here” “come here” it knows it can’t speak well anymore so it tries to make it more simple in hopes of Ravi understanding it even says nooo nooo nooo when Ravi blocks his entry. It also wears clothes to This is just my personally belief on the monster. you mentioned something about a group of 6 I think those chairs were just placed there by the backrooms. However after Ravi goes through the tiny hole there is a little hand print on the wall possibly maybe the dads “son” just one of them went through that way but that wouldn’t make the best sense because of the shelf in the way of where Ravi encountered still life since Ravi didn’t try all the doors it’s possibly the dads soon could’ve came from there although I don’t know why they wouldn’t stick together. I honestly idk I’m just saying random stuff. Also maybe the monster Ravi encountered in the still life room was completely different than the one which met face to face. The original monster is strong and could knock down doors but the one which Ravi sees face to face can’t push the chair and cabinet out the way. there’s sign of human life although out the video you’d think it would be a dead body or monster paradise but ehhh. And if it’s actually just some mockery of humans then… there goes my dream of a backrooms monster friend 😔😢

I haven't really heard anybody mention this but, the house at the end and Ravi's house are both technically liminal spaces. A liminal space is a space which is in a transitional phase, the dad at the end says hes having some of the wainscot re-done and I believe Ravi mentions near the start of the video that hes having some renovations done to his house as well. (I'm not entirely sure on that part, dont exactly remember so dont hold it as truth) Anyways, perhaps the reason both of these areas seem to flawlessly blend together with The Complex is because they are both undergoing changes and are currently experiencing a transitional phase. The Complex or rather The Backrooms are indeed just one big liminal space so its possible the concept of liminality could prove more important than we all initially realized. This would explain why both areas are so seamless and "stable". The veil between realities is so thin due to this liminality that they are starting to blend together. Although, it doesn't really explain why The Complex is so unstable in found footage two. Perhaps something happend on the outside in between the events of found footage three and two, in the real world, perhaps within ASYNC itself which resulted in it destabilizing, just food for thought...

I think it's important to note that the blue color shown in Peter's timeskip was the result of the colors of the image being inverted instead of being a color correction / light color similar to the green and red lights. I'm not sure though the blue might have been intentional

I think that the blue effect of the time speed up is a simple color inversion of the footage rather than a blueshift. As for why it happened, that is beyond me.

Look at the numbers. Not the location. It appears to be a reference to Sumero-Babylonian metrological units 1 ešè = 600 sar = 432,000 bricks 1 bùr = 1800 sar = 1,296,000 bricks Fairly sure the latter is supposed to be the number of bricks in the Tower of Babel. Is the 3x432 a reference to that? I think this series is connected to his other (The Oldest View). These are the measurements used for building ziggurats, which is conceptually similar to what the backrooms is *and* appears to be what we're seeing the in black & white clips in TOV. The number (432,000) also appears frequently in religious texts of all types, take a look at the sources I mention below. Kind of off topic for this video but I just want to point something out that i havent seen a single person mention in comments or videos that has been driving me crazy. If you did at some point and i missed it, sorry lol. If you go to the pitfalls video, in the pitfalls themselves theres clearly one in the middle that has a lip under the wall. Its the only one that isn't solid. It has an obvious shadow that makes it look more like a plank than the top of a wall. And you have to pay attention very carefully while hes moving across, because theres a cut, but you can see without a shadow of a doubt, that's the one that marvin was standing on when he fell. And its also in the other video with the pitfalls where they're building the bridge so its not a mistake. When i watched the gtlive for those, it drove me crazy that MatPat pauses the video like 90 times during those moments and doesnt see or mention it once lol.

Honestly, im hyped to see what else you branch out to in regard to video essays like these, and im hoping kane does some more backrooms survey videos like the lighting and tile one i personally think it makes for some great world building

29:14 i think Kane said in his discord server that the voices in the room were "routed through" the loudspeakers. this makes me assume that the voices were spoken at that moment but were never near Ravi at all, and the source of these voices could be within the Complex or back outside it

Okay so a few things!! First: the coldness mentioned at the threshold might have something to do with energy/heat being drawn from the surrounding area from the complex itself (sort of like how refrigerators draw heat to produce the cold temperatures), what if the complex is drawing energy in some form (either to sustain/power something, or through some sort of mismatch between the physical properties of either space. (Think how air moves from high pressure to low pressure areas, or if the rate at which time flows is being called into question, perhaps if, say, time is moving faster in the complex, it only makes sense that it would be "absorbing" more energy from the surround areas {picture a candle burning down in both areas, and the one in the complex burning out first), or maybe it takes significant energy to maintain/equalize the flow of time between the two areas, and with the threshold there, it is forced to equalize) Okay, and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned elsewhere, but I can't remember where; but maybe the humming sound is caused by a mismatch in power supply/usage. I'm not an electrician/tech specialist, but vaguely remember hearing something about machinery/devices operating in either lower (which I think is more likely since it's been established the lights are less efficient/require more power) or higher voltage/wattage(?) than they are designed to resulting in different effects, most notably audible humming/flickering. (A good example of this is trying to use a non-graded light bulb in a graded/dimming/adjustable light switch. In some/most cases, the light level doesn't actually change much, even when receiving less power, but instead just hums, flickering just before it approaches a certain point, at which it simply stops producing light {while still humming in some cases}). This seems almost too easy of an explanation to be honest, as if the complex is pulling "random" components from different points in time (simplified for brevity), it's almost guaranteed that the parts are going to have differing specs and power requirements

It should also be noted that if you're moving at the speed of light TOWARDS something, everything would take on a bluish tint, and you yourself would appear more blue to an observer. This is because the light waves are appearing more compressed, and thus bluer than they actually are. If someone was travelling away, it would be red rather than blue.
