Thank you. It looks like a lot of work to do that. I think it would be much easier just to add the photo of the page and then read from it while cooking. I hope it is possible.
@CookingandCalm14 сағат бұрын
Yes I think you could probably do that and enlarge it while cooking but it won't be searchable so if you are later searching by ingredient, it might miss that one that is only a photo. May not matter to you but just for info

@@CookingandCalm Thank you very much for your reply. I guess we can add key words to the recipe? Is it possible? Also we can put it under a specific category. Anyway, it looks like I probably won't be able to use this app since I might have too old OS version on my laptop. I might be able to use it on my I-Pad, but it looks like now it cost almost 40$ Canadian dollars and not 4$. I wonder why there is so much price increase. So I am looking at other apps like "Copy Me That" and "Recipe Keeper". Thank you again for all your help. 🙂

Hello, Susan, I bought the Instant Pot Pro Crisp + Air Fryer a week ago. I planned on buying it a while ago, I knew this would be an upgrade from previous models, and I didn't expect it to not have a YOGHURT setting. I considered returning it, but then, I found I could use the SOUS VIDE setting- it is actually the only one that allows for the time and temperature settings I need- I want to make Lactobacillus Reuteri, which needs 38 degrees Celsius and 36 hours. However, someone says that SOUS VIDE doesn't allow for a proper coagulation of the yoghurt, in the first or subsequent batches. I feel encouraged by your assessment that customizing is better than relying on pre-settings. Does it sound extreme to you, if I consider using Sous Vide without water, while removing the sealing and setting the button on VENT (so that pressure doesn't build up)? Thank you!
@CookingandCalm14 сағат бұрын
Thank you. I think some people have tried it without water but do check with others if not sure. I don't think I'd remove the seal but yes, open the vent for sure. Good luck with it and come back and share here if you can as a few people have been asking about this recently

I find instapot meals to be mediocre and lacking texture.

It sounds good, but is there a way to add the real "expiry date" and then also "check if it is still OK" date to the individual herbs, or other produtcs files, without putting them as reminders in the calendar?
@tk_kaine2 күн бұрын
I've been hesitant to upgrade. I bought my duo for $35 years ago and have been boggled by how much the price for them have gone up. But i waaaaant the pro because the ability to saute on a stovetop with the inner pot will be a game changer. And it looks so nice. The video makes me want one so bad.

It really is helpful especially when you're short on space. I really like the Pro.It's not available here in the UK anymore but still seems fine elsewhere in the world

Thank you for this great video. I didn't know that such app exists. I have to check it out. Is there a way when you use the scanning app to also add photo to the recipe keeping the photo and then the text recognized by the app as text?
@CookingandCalmКүн бұрын
You are welcome! You can get the text out of the photo using chat GPT or scanner app and paste in. It doesn't do it automatically but it's easy enough.

Basic question - can Instant Pots understand both celcius and faranheit? All the videos I see use F but I think in C.
@CookingandCalm3 күн бұрын
Hi there , no that’s a very good question and thankfully the answer is ‘YES’ - you can click a button and change between f & c I think on all models, (but do a double check if you’re buying as sometimes countries are different). The instruction manuals are downloadable on official Instant Pot Site. I have a lot of models so if you have one in mind feel free to ask here - I try to keep it a safe place for all the questions 👍

@CookingandCalm Thanks for answering my question. I just ordered the DUO EVO PLUS 5.7L . It can do everything else so I think I should be ok? Thanks for your content also - will try out some recipes...

Thanks for sharing, I might give this a go tomorrow night. I've been putting my Instant Pot Whisper Quiet to good use; poached chicken, braised pork & beef dishes, easily cooking frozen chicken and a few batches of chicken stock. I've been really impressed with it so far, everything has turned out great

Oh that's great to hear! Such a nice way to cook. Does the plastic cover from the steam release section ever fall off yours when you remove the lid? It's happened a few times with mine and trying to work out if it's a fault or just me being a bit sloppy putting it back on.
@deano1104 күн бұрын
@CookingandCalm yes, the plastic lid will occasionally fall off on mine as well - I've resorted to pressing it down before removing the lid to make sure it stays on. That's the only 'fault' so far, which I can cope with for the magic it performs 😂

Oh thank you so much , I've counted 3 of us having this little 'blip' so probably is a 'thing'. I like your solution - I'm going to try train my brain to that too. If it's ok, when I finally do a review video after a bit more testing, I'll mention your workaround for anyone else who has this model?

@@CookingandCalm yes of course, feel free to mention that. I agree, it's seem like a design flaw somewhere as opposed to just our models

HI! Thank so much for your video. Which models allow you to manipulate the temperature? I want to make L Reuteri yogurt which requires a steady temperature of 100F for 36 hours.
@CookingandCalm6 күн бұрын
I'm pretty sure all of the Pro models including the Pro, Pro Plus and Pro Crisp (definitely that one as I just checked mine for you) can go low temp 100F/38C and also be set for long times, up to 99 hours commonly. The models that have sous vide are usually very adjustable. I am pretty sure the Duo Plus Whisper Quiet can also do this but mine is boxed up at the minute. Others may also do it. Unfortunately, I don't know every model in that detail but if you go to the Instant Pot Site (for your country as annoyingly the models vary internationally) you can download the manuals for the one you are interested in and find either the yogurt or sous vide sections. It should tell you there.I hope that helps. 👍

Susan, I have a 5.7 litre duo crisp instant pot with air fryer. It’s one of the earlier models of this type. Is there a newer 5.7 litre version of the instant pot which I can buy that I can still also use my older air fryer part on?
@CookingandCalm6 күн бұрын
I'm not sure where you're based but here ion the UK at least, they aren't interchangeable as far as I know but do ask Instant Pot to be sure as they sometimes change things.
