Good stuff, but 3 quarter offering no choke potential is a wild claim. Two of my favorite subs are with the 3 quarter grip!

Former freestyle and greco here: we never combine wrestling and BJJ as you say. We use wrestling until the grappler is pinned or grounded and control is somewhat completed, then we go BJJ way. Its not a combination, its a follow up. To combine is something else. Guys like JT Torres are phenomenal at wrestling cause they can combine. JT knows enough grappling to combine (play around, toy with) both.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of Craig's biggest troll yet and there is no huge winnings in the end.

Rogan's shilling for ADCC was kinda embarrassing when talking to Craig. Craig's sponsor won't be able to keep it up for sure, it will be a 1 or 2 time "hit" wonder but maybe ADCC will up the prize money to the winner to 100k at least. That would make ADCC more prestigious.

High level Cardio fitness probably makes little difference in lifespan compared to light intensity exercisers. Men who walked at a brisk pace had a life span of about 86 years, in a study published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings (based on UK Biobank data). The walkers appear to be beating out Olympic Marathoners and 4 Minute milers when you look at and compare studies. When you look at a 2012 BMJ article, it was stated that Olympic Golfers (walkers) and Olympic Cyclist (v02 max monsters) had the same lifespan. Go figure.

As a wrestler I can confidently say the wresting guy in this video has a Varey week stance and poor technique.

I can’t really see how one off then paying people million dollars is going to do anything for fight pay across the board even giving the athletes $10,000 to show isn’t really going to do anything for fighter pay other events are not going to pay more money just because this one event simply not logical He could’ve done with the money is set up a framework that would’ve benefited into the future For example a framework such as something based off the world surfing league, surfing you have two competitive structures one is the pro league the other is the semi pro or amateur league Competitors compete in the amateur league across a number of events throughout the year in events that awarded in relation to where they place in each event if an athlete gets enough points they become eligible for the pro league In the pro league you have a set amount of athletes per division again athletes compete throughout the year in a number of events. Each placement has a points allocation to it from the first round all the way to the finals if an athlete fails to gain enough points, they are cut from the pro league and sent back to the amateurs while a certain number of amateurs are brought up to the pro league , there is always faces on the scene to make an impact on the pro league In both amateur and pro athletes are paid per heat win for example if you win the first round you get $4000 the second round 8000 and so on and so on until you get to the final if you win the final you get a very large paycheck. This would ensure that athletes would be getting paid across-the-board in around 10 events a year meaning that a revenue stream would be coming in on a monthly basis This would also promote sponsorship on a match largest scale sponsors would be able to prop up amateur athletes helping them get into the pro league and then supporting them throughout their pro league career much more into sport overall As it stands at the moment, the payments Jiu Jitsu overall is atrocious but having a one off event if it is a one off event is not going to help anyone except a hand selected few people within the industry

For Brazilians, US$1 million is more than almost anyone can dream of earning in a lifetime. I have no doubt that if the CJI really happens and pays the winners (IF), most brazilians will try their luck there. A dollar is worth 5 "Reais). It's quite a lot of money for us. Flo is just terrible. And it's cost is very high for non USA/Europeans fans. I hope CJI delivers what Craig is promising. And I hope those insanely rich sheiks from Abu Dhabi decide to pay more for those competing at ADCC. A few millions is nothing for those guys.

People who say “just shoot for the legs” don’t realize how hard it is to avoid the sprawl and front headlock, good wrestlers just make it look easy.

They've been doing it longer than anyone, I'm sure there's methods to how they train. This video made it seem like they don't know what they're doing. And remember of course they have to appeal to beginners and the masses etc. I know there's levels to being a black belt too. This video seemed like the goal was trying to diminish Gracie jujitsu where all of this came from and then trying to advertise one's own gym and approaches etc. "forget what these dinosaurs do, my shit's better". I don't like these sandbagging videos either. Go to a boxing gym and do that or a Muay Thai gym. Also the fact that the guys who own the gym are there and fully engaged and helping is another sign that it's a solid place. And the question, is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu still legit? Considering no one would be doing it if not for them and the fact that they are still competitive on the world stage and dominated for decades I would say yes

lol Craig has stated many times its a non profit event, its not intended to make money, mostly to pay the athletes, also he's deliberately not prioritized B team members, Ethan is still doing ADCC, hes obly going to put the top guys in from B team, Nicky Rod, Nicky Ryan, Jozef Chen, i dont see him putting anyone else, I dont think Hisam deserves an invite he hasn't won a grappling match in some time.
