Sean Applegate is the instructor and is one of the most detail-oriented instructors I've ever had. He truly is a master of the craft and its reflected by his competitors. Some notable mentions are Ryan Aitken who just recently defended his title in Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds and Kevin Beurhing an extremely talented competitor who is a rising star in the competition scene. All the guys are extremely nice and wonderful to train with. I'm very happy I have the opportunity to train with these guys and learn under Sean. Tony's low fight IQ is what has been getting him tapped and beat. So what he got trapped by Charles and Nate, they are both better at BJJ than Tony lol. Charles is the supposed best BJJ guy in the UFC but he has been tapped more than Tony so your logic makes no sense. Also, I'm pretty dang sure, that Eddie hasn't been in Tony's corner since he's been getting tapped lol. You're just mad that your favorite fighter is on a skid. You can't blame Tony's weird paranoid training methods on Eddie. Eddie himself said how it was weird to try to tell him what to do sometimes especially over his other coaches.
@designingtheenemy58699 ай бұрын
I just double checked myself and Eddie hasn't been in Tony's corner since Tony got beat by Justin in a fight in which Tony was not even submitted. So all these fights Tony is getting schooled in BJJ, Eddie was not his coach or in his corner. So what you meant to say is that your favorite fighter, is getting tapped from the lack of 10th planet BJJ. Lol.
@Ectomesoendo9 ай бұрын

I feel Eddie bravos BJJ has been a big part of modern bjj in MMA. Eddie used to work in the UFC van/truck and watch the fights live to send feedback to the commentary team. I'm sure that affected his approach to BJJ. He also has great philosophy when it comes to showing BJJ that is not good for MMA because it will get you knocked out. Eddie was the first big time guy that I seen promoting slapping style ground and pound in BJJ style competitions. I get Eddie is a meme to some people but he's a legitimate BJJ master and he's taken the craft seriously for a long time now. His body is broke from it almost to the point it's hard to roll. I personally find the John danaher squad and all them to be overrated imo and weird.

The thing about BJJ or any submission based grappling, is that you’re training that doesn’t fully benefit you in an MMA type scenario against another experienced grappler, imagine you as a grappler fighting another grappler trying to sub him while he can punch & elbow you, that’s going to be extremely extremely hard to do, in MMA position beats submission, that’s why wrestlers Dominate, and in a self defense situation the wrestler would dominate as well(not always though) IMO it’s going to be hard to find wrestling as an adult, so it’s best to join a MMA or no GI JJ gym and train there, they’ll have a wrestling or “takedown” class which will give you that wrestlers edge
@user-wf2zc7gt5q9 ай бұрын
@@realtruth1448 I would say Sambo, judo, and catch wrestling prepares better. They are all submission based grappling just like bjj. The problem with bjj is the guard. They emphasize guard over scrambling for top position. Catch wrestling, Sambo, and judo emphasizes pins and submissions, so you'll naturally get used to being on top, thus avoiding strikes.
@realtruth14489 ай бұрын
@@user-wf2zc7gt5q I’d say combine both, finding catch wrestling nowadays is extremely hard, same goes for sambo, judo is pretty common though(speaking as someone who lives in the U.S) and I agree, training to be on top is well, but you should also train how to fight at the bottom too just in case you end up there, IMO a good combo would be sambo + no gi BJJ, sambo is literally catch wrestling(cacc) and judo combined, and no gi bjj for those fine tuned subs & fighting on your back, judo takedowns are amazing for self defense because it’s a lot of finesse and can work beautifully against much larger opponents without brutal forcing it like wrestling does, so in the perfect conditions sambo + no gi bjj = ultimate grappling technique, of course against the average guy out on the street or even a very large weight lifter, you’ll be fine training only sambo or only no gi bjj, but why not fine tune your grappling to the absolute highest level(technique wise) as possible, truth be told in a street fight there’s really only 2 takedowns you need, some type of bodylock and a single leg, and for subs some type of leg sub like leg lock or knee bar and a RNC, A bodylock is really an amazing takedown IMO because the person really can’t strike you while you’re doing it.
