Moving from Brunswick Ground cost that club dearly. Should have figured out a way of staying.

i thought footy was really stodgy back in 50s, but some of those handballs and running bounces were very attacking. thanks

Every single footy show made since has dreamed of having the following and appreciation this show did. Most don't even come close either.

If Fitzroy didn't have to leave the Junction they wouldn't have. It was our home ground. The average crowds at athe junction oval 1983-84 were 16,000. The average home game crowds at Victoria Park 1985-86 were 12,000. The club started to lose it's identity once it became nomadic. The Roys were doomed from the mid 80s.

Pity the sound stops. I heard KB say one time he had more fun and got more fulfilment out of doing JSC than actually playing footy. I miss great shows like this for kids. Even as a Pies fan, I loved him in the show. Nice one KB.

I was there. Great atmosphere at those grounds and some of those players would still get games today. The umpires let things go a bit more than today which made for a better game.

I always thought this way over rated. The Ablett hit on Dipper was a much bigger hit.
@Michael-zh8yl3 ай бұрын
far from overrated, broke two of his ribs, ruptured kidney and was pissing out straight red blood in the change rooms . it was a big hit from a big bloke, and the fact that he played an entire 2 hours of footy with that type of injury is very tough stuff, Ablett hit on dipper was big also.
