I was at the preliminary final the week before they won their first premiership supporting Richmond. We Got done by about 18 points. I spoke to Tom Hafey years later and he was still angry with Michael Green for stuffing up a goal in the last quarter that would have put Richmond in front. That era at North was the coolest and most awesome and exciting of any club in the VFL IMO. Keith Greg is the most underrated champion in the history of VFL AFL IMO.

When you're more scared of your coach and your teammates than the opposition. I'm not a North supporter by any means, but Barrass got them up.

Obviously the '75 Premiership was a whole team and club effort but Johnny Burns set up the win and i will never forget his contribution that day. If there was a Norm Smith medal back then, he would have won it. 4 goals in the first half and some crucial and game-sealing score involvements. I love the slap on the bum he gives Slammin' Sam as he's jogging back to the centre after kicking an electrifying goal. Just a great memory.

John Burns was a great player - from memory he wore the No 11 jumper !! I have an enduring memory of that guy. After his career ended at North, he headed down Geelong road and joined the Cats. Playing for the cats in his first game back at Arden street, before the ball was bounced; every North supporter in the grandstand - and everywhere else around the ground - rose and gave him a standing ovation. It was a great moment in time!!

This AFL Documentary from 1996 should be given a Blue Ray release before physical media disappears. So many VFL/AFL legends who appeared in that documentary from 1996 have sadly passed away and now Ron Barassi joins them in heaven. Even Keven "Cowboy" Neil has joined that list too. So I hope maybe Madman Entertainment Australia or whoever holds the rights for AFL physical releases for DVD and Blue Ray can organize with the AFL to do a Blue Ray release of this documentary soon before footage physical media is lost.

Perhaps at the same time, they could rename it also to its correct name "100 years of VFL football", since the "interstate" teams and their history barely cracked even a passing mention.

The AFL need to commission someone like Dickson Films to create a multi part documentary series to capture the history of this great game.Such a rich history!!

Cowboy Neal was tough as tough could be and a excellent football player. I was at the 1971 grand final when he punch Peter Hudson so hard his head should have come off. 5 goals out of ten in the 1966 grand final and people only remember Greens' point that won St kilda the flag.

@@C.A.MARSUPIAL Breen's behind was at the right place at the right time. Cowboy Neal got the goals needed to keep St Kilda in the game and I agree, should have been given man of the match in an outstanding game. If only the Norm Smith medal could be awarded retroactively.

As that North Melbourne part of the AFL documentary ended, the next segment is perhaps the saddest part and always gives me a few tears even as I watch it to this day.
