I also bought some Alice in Wonderland dresses from Woolyrockers! Such nice dresses! I’m hoping to order Lavendula this month 🩵 and that Licca is on my wishlist. Awesome Christmas gifts!

I started collecting this year and though I started with fakes I did manage to get two proper girls Kiss Me True and Fairy Girl. And I have a few off 2024’s releases I want. Lavendula Babe, Donna Doughnut, UR4Me, Arlidge Timekeeper and Heavenly Strawberry 🍓 (I’ve seen a few of her on eBay at not terrible prices). Though I have a long list of dolls that are older that I want too 😪🤦🏻‍♀️ and I’m not pigeonholed by a set aesthetic I like multiple 😅🤦🏻‍♀️ It would be nice to see colour diversity within the Blythe range because there’s plenty of it in the fakes that I’ve seen. And speaking of them it’s so confusing to me that two of my fakes have better hair than my legit Fairy Girl. But you’ve said Good Smile Company are doing really well with the hair so I’m hoping for better hair in my future! I love the look of the two 2025 dolls that are coming out so far but I’m probably not going to get them. Even though the gothic doll is epic! Hopefully more skin diversity and lots of quirky dolls in 2025 happy new year (slightly late) 🩵

It's really interesting to see all the dolls from 2024 lined up like that, it definitely shows the variety, but also the lack of diversity too, as you mentioned. It's great that there is another dark skinned doll coming for 2025, as well as the Goth girl, although it would be nice to see ranges of different skin tones too. It would also be great to see more hair styles than just long hair with or without a fringe - we need the bob back! In fact, it would be great to have some even shorter haired dolls too imo, although I know due to the scalp situation that their choices of short hairstyles are limited. All in all it does feel that there is a renaissance for Blythe at the moment, with some great designs and amazing quality stock.

I got Kendra and Heavenly Strawberry, plus picked up Coquette Lumiere's stock, and honestly had to hold myself back from buying more. (This video is not helping! 😂) I'm so looking forward to 2025! Blythe has been something I only admired for literally two decades but I just got my first Blythe dollie for my birthday (a gift from me to me, if I'm being honest). I got Zoe & Her Pet Fish and I love her so much! I adore the squishy belly on her kitty costume. She is just right up my street too. I haven't put her in any other clothes so it's lovely to see her dressed up in your outfits. Great video, happy new year!

I agree about Good Smile doing a much better job. I got four of the dolls they produced last year and I couldn't be happier. I also did immediately get Jayla and now I might have to get Silent Lucretia as well - though I do want to see photos before I jump on that one. ;D Hope you have a happy new year!

I bought a fake bythe. Called "blyss dolls" She's cute and a cheaper alternative to the more expensive in all honesty. Just think it's shady how similar the name is.

$200 would not get you a legit Blythe doll. Of course the buyer should be aware of this? If not, that's on the buyer.

Great to see what Blythecon was like this year, really got a feel for it with all the videos, also it's always a treat to see Macaron in a video too. Goldie looked fabulous in her outfit and felt very fitting for the theme of this years event. It's a shame that Henwin couldn't make it but you made the best call by leaving her at home, you would just have been worried about her for the whole time. Hopefully you can fix her up for next year.

200USD isn't a lot for a fake >customized< doll though. Many sellers on instagram mostly or only work with fake dolls and charge much more than this, but they clearly let their customers know it's not an original - which UO failed to do. I've been 20years in the hobby and see that second hand Takaras can now be found for good prices, as people seem to have fallen out of love with stocks and only use them as base customs. I do not mind the fakes, as their quality is good and they offered a vast range of skin colours way before Takara bothered to even come close to a black doll. Also if I was practising carving or faceups I wouldn't use an authentic Blythe. But a fake is a fake, and we need to know this and make our choices accordingly.

The photograph aspect of collecting has always been my favorite. People's eye for photographing our favorite girl blows my mind with every amazing pic!
