Beautiful! Your gluing skills are top notch, as you mentioned. Specs say it runs on 12v-24v. Wonder if it could be battery powered? What amp hour rating could give us 4 hours of play time at 50% volume? Tha ks for the build video. It really does look and sound nice :)

It's simple Americans always scream "usa made " reality is the USA has absolutely no foothold worldwide. China has and IS THE KING in terms of manufacturing, even American brands *choughs* PSaudio, china makes their so called irs v killers running you well past 10k set price . Wake up guys, the gear they sell there is not even copied. Its based of stuff our so called "american and european made " send over there to manufacture for them. The marketing is whack but I've heard a good bit of their drivers and even speakers (Mistral,b&w Nautilus clones) And i definitely can say for the prices?!! Exceedingly good

When measuring a frequency response curve, can I determine maximum and minimum limits for a pass or fail judgment?
@Neushoorn63
@Neushoorn63 21 күн бұрын
Since DIY xovers are ultimately tuned by ear anyhow what difference does the accuracy of the mic really make? The final sound is going to be adjusted to taste/room no matter how accurate the mic is. You're going to end up with the same xover topology no matter the mic. Only with a poor mic you will need to tweak the component values by ear. I think for most DIY'ers any of these mics can get the job done.

For High Qts drivers you can go for Infinite baffle, open baffle or large sealed enclosures.

@@sudiptasen6181 How large the box should be depends on the other speaker parameters. Having at least Fs, Qts and Vas is enough to determine the box size.

Thank ypu for the video. Just having this doubt, am having a dual klipsch R 121 Sw sub in my home. The gain is about 50 % and avr trim at - 8. Is it ok to cover the port with plugs or using some socks to get some good punch. Mine feels bit boomy some times. And if its designed to wrk ported , any problems if i restrict the air flow ? I knw big brands having port plugs and all. Thanks
@AudioJudgement

If you cover the port there is absolutely no problem. It changes the acoustics but there is no concern of speaker failure of something like that.

I don't build boxes at all anymore. No need. I now only use pipes for smaller drivers and sonotubes for larger drivers. Why build boxes when pipes are easier and can sound even better when done right?

I've built sealed and vented my whole life. I had a small sports car with a tiny 8" sealed wedge in the back but got rid of that car and had a high excursion 8" lying around, so for kicks I tried a flared T-Line (hybrid of a horn and T-Line) and I was blown away by the low end extension from such a tiny sub. It went into my SUV and rattled the car with only 250w rms into it. I'm a T-Line fan for life. Trying another T-Line again this time with my Solobaric L7 12" currently sitting in a vented box.

I'd be interested in seeing some more 2-way speaker builds featuring well spec'd drivers of Ali Express or another site that you like, that could compete with prebuilt speaker pairs that sell in the price range of $800-$1500.

In this comparison video, it would've been best to also put both speakers in the 50L box, in the clam-shell configuration, and then measure it to show the big increase in dB that is achieved at the 20Hz-60Hz range.

I built my first double 12inch box last week, I wanted to put an 8 inch aero port but the one that I wanted to buy was actually more expensive than all my material put together so I bought an 8 inch pvc pipe which worked out to 80% cheaper. Next step was flaring the pipe which was done easily using a gas stove. Box specs: H - 350mm W - 920mm D - 380mm Took it an SPL car show today and did a 147.4 db's @ 55hz
