Nice video, thanks for posting. Two suggestions though: 1) get some rubber gloves, and 2) most people should measure out the amount of oil b4 pouring it into the car. If you accidentally pour in too much, you have to redo the draining process. But otherwise, great video! I would recommend it.

A strut brace is best when you drive on curvy and bumpy roads a lot. It helps prevent body roll and keeps your suspension from losing center of gravity (more balanced). The heaviest part of the car is where the engine is which in nearly most situations in the front, some vehicle have an engine in middle or rear. For 150 to 250 USD for a Strut Tower Bar/Brace may help when making hard turns and cornering, but generally does little for newer cars. Pop open the hood and Hey! that's awesome dude. You've got this huge bar back there matching the color of your car. Look, it even has a name or is it nameless. Be sure to call your car make Dealership Service / Parts Dept. to get the Torque specs.

Good video, but I have a dumb question: when and why do we need to adjust the valves?
@skipper13503 жыл бұрын
Im about to do mine, why? Because after a good ride when she's nice and warm there is a deliberate ticking noise coming from the rocker cover region. My bike has 18,000 km's for reference. Why i'm doing it? Because the valve assembly will wear prematurely.
@heisenturd56833 жыл бұрын
Completely wrong, the shock towers have a lot of force acting on them while cornering, the bar in the middle may not be under tension or pressure when the car is sat still, but it is when you're cornering, and will stop any lateral movement between the shock towers.

Fantastic how bad they are, I had a really good laugh, thank-you! Will do what I can to amend this. Sadly this channel hasn't had any new content in a few years, but this Video still sees some traffic. A little disappointed with the current closed captions. someone somewhere was actually paid money to do that task... Looks like a bot couldn't figure out my Auzzie accent! Hahaha! Cheers Ron!

Checking the sideways rigidity of the aftermarket strut bar is irrelevant because it only operates on a pushing or pulling basis and it is a straight section from one end to another. It's an elongation or compression resistance which is critical. What you have done is like pulling the stays on yacht or other mast sideways and saying they are too flexible which is irrelevant because they are made to minimize stretching.

Thanks for showing how easy the process is. This is a great first vehicle for learning basic automotive maintenance. Also, those metal ramps you sometimes see for gardening equipment are (at least the ones I own) rated for 1,500lbs a piece. I happened to have two laying around and knew off hand the weight of the MR-S/ Spyder was about 2,200lbs. Instead of using a jack or stands, I just backed up on to the ramps and chalked the front wheels. I can complete an oil change on my ride in about 15 minutes if I check over myself a couple times (and don't have someone standing over my shoulder).

synthetic oil or regular 5W30?
@michaelball70436 ай бұрын
Adding to this, I saw you used 5W40 and had saw recommendations to use this in other places. I'm in Florida, warm climate, and while my 2005 is almost 20 years old, only has 53k miles. For performance, is it recommended to go to 5W40 for thicker oil, or stick to 5W30 for now?
