Nice one man. Very insightful. Could you pls share the settings Mr. Moss dialled in for you, especially for the rear preload? He mentioned the progressive spring makes dialling in proper sag a bit challenging.

What type of exhaust do you have? Ive disabled the charcoal canister / evap canister it helped me with the hot start and low rpm between 1 and 2 gear stalling issues, it also contribute to the dirty throttle body. Very easy modes with the right tools. No need to remove the tank and air box. Look up smart Moto evap canister delete.

You gotta bring this bike to Sonoma. It's basically a giant supermoto track. Even on my FS 450 is great on it.

@Yeet_Streets I'll probably be there on the 28th too on my fs450. We should do a session together. I'm considering a hyper 950 and would love to follow you for a bit just to see how it does on track.

@Yeet_Streets gotcha. I'll be in A group but maybe I'll drop down to B to get a session with you. Sonoma isn't the easiest track to learn, but I like it more than Laguna.

Do you have any experience with the old hyper 1100? I’ve got my heart set on owning the OG 1100 or the 950 and I’m always looking for opinions. I haven’t had the chance to try either model yet myself but they are my dream bike.
@Yeet_Streets7 ай бұрын
Both are great bikes, the 950 is a little bit faster and significantly more modern. I haven’t had a chance to ride an 1100 but I’ve been around a couple. I like them, but the design language ages it a bit more than I would like
@apantelop7 ай бұрын
If you are mostly riding B group and at the same time commuting to work I would recommend using 50/50 tires for both, i.e. Michelin Power 5 or 6 (maybe GP) or Pirelli Rosso IV Corsa, that way you won't have to swap tires back and forth and they will do great on track while also not being terrible in terms of mileage on the street. Alternatively look for a used set of wheels (maybe the Marchesini ones from the SP) so that you can run Pirelli SC's or even slicks on track in the future (although those only make sense once you are solidly in A). Additionally, since you have had Dave Moss adjust your suspension you would want to take a note of his exact settings (preload, comp and rebound) to switch between that config and a more comfortable & plush set up on the street. There is a also a big mental part of a track day that is worth going over as well (pacing yourself, learning from others, focusing on one or two things to improve at a time, hydrating, focusing on lines and exit markers etc). Keep it up, hope to see you out there at some point, I will be at Dylan's track day in Sonoma.

I’m a few steps ahead. Been going to trackdays for some time. Luckily I have a rabaconda tire machine at home so a tire swap only takes me about an hour. Definitely out-riding 50/50 tires. I’m in SC territory at the track and I’ll be improving even more once I have the grippier tire confidence. My commute chews through 50/50 tires, absolutely worth it to get dedicated tires. I am looking into wheels as a future investment. I do have Dave’s track suspension settings saved in my phone. Pretty quick to adjust

Any advice on the suspension settings? I did my first ride on my 950 the other day and it was bouncing like a pogo stick.

Love that commute!! I have been thinking about getting a hyper M SP. what kind a fuel economy do you get? I have a FZ 09 and it likes to wheelie too.
@Yeet_Streets8 ай бұрын
Really depends on how heavy-handed you are. During my commutes I average around 35mpg. If I’m blasting through the hills I get something like 25. There isn’t a fuel gauge and it has a rather small tank. I usually get my low fuel light every 80-90 miles.

About 45 minutes ago I returned from a North Bay ride on my 950SP. I'm really allergic to multi-lane seemingly endless miles of straight pavement. This bike really grins when it's in relatively hi revs @ 4th gear. Because freeway driving styles vary from car-to-car, I can vouch for the wonderful I-need-to-put-you-drivers-behind-me-torque. The 950 Definitely like well-spaced twisties and it grins at sweepers.

Its ability this bike has to kick into action has always kept a smile on my face. It pulls like a freight train out of any turn <100mph… which are the speeds you normally see on the streets. It has wonderful full-throttle characteristics.

The exhaust on this bike is significantly louder than the wind noise. But definitely, wear earplugs with or without loud exhaust. Even on short rides it helps.

Interesting comments on the SF V2, I was looking at the SF V2.... until my friend got a Hyper 950 SP... the bike feels like a toy, but god damm... one of the most beautiful bikes, for me, my main concern is Highway Miles, I live in Nevada and to get to fun roads, we need to do around an Hour Highway each way, and that is kind of holding me back so far... I had few naked bikes, but none where I sit so high up and so light... Really enjoy your videos, ride safe !
@AAKhanivore9 ай бұрын
Take one for a test ride. I did 5000 miles on a tour of Spain from the UK on a naked monster r and it was fine at legal speeds for extended periods of time. At well above legal speeds my neck started to hurt after a while.
@kaiul29679 ай бұрын
Highway isn't fun but if you keep it under 75mph it isn't bad. You can buy a taller windscreen to help improve that. Puig makes one.
