Does the whole attack turn into fire when you use the staff? Or is the d8 physical, and the 1d4-1 fire? Or does the entire attack turn into d8 + 1d4-1 and everything is fire damage?

According to the designer sth like Fire Brand gives you a +2 WHEN you use a strength attack, that’s why it‘s once per turn.

The combat in this seems really well balanced so the fights are short but dangerous. I suppose you could seed that level 10 deck to ensure a longer level, but the randomness was fun.

@paulaceto6492Ай бұрын
Hey, the ending didn’t bother me. It’s what this game is all about: crazy randomness. I’m thinking that once my expansion arrives, I’ll play it so that you can equip only one artifact at a time, and every time you use it, you roll a die. On a 6, you’ve drained its power, and it’s discarded. I love those artifacts, so want to hold on to them a bit longer than your method. Great series!

I have had similar tile experiences on level 10 but it just goes to show that the game is about the journey and not the goal. That doesn’t even ruin the game. Agree, too, that it is like a potato chip in that once you finish it you just want to go back and get more. There is just so much content and variety and room for house rules. It does it all just right. Great coverage!
@davidlhslАй бұрын
Great playthrough, and now I should get this game back to the table for my own adventure. I love the fact that you also demonstrated how easy it is to create your own house rules to tailor the game to how you wish to play it.

Hmm I would suggest sending that question about the Decay Spell off to the Creator. (I think he actually commented on one of your videos in this series, though I could be wrong) Cause it sure does seem to be very overpowered. I thought maybe it was supposed to be just the 1d4+1 (without the int(d8)) but even that seems over powered for every turn.

So, when you use the fire wand it adds 1d4-1. Does that mean it deals 0-3 damage depending on your roll, or does it always do at least 1? I guess you answer that when you talk about the scorpion.
@callasmar2 ай бұрын
I messed this up... it´s 0 to 3 I guess, but I forgot to subtract
@tomwchick12 ай бұрын
Don't forget the -1 on that fire wand! : ) I'm guessing this is going to get even more challenging as you have to track even more cards with stats and bonuses and abilities and modifiers and whatnot. I don't envy you the task. I'm really enjoying your playthrough of this, and I'd normally be tempted to pick it up myself, but the cost of this thing is nothing short of absurd. Over $150 for the core game, with at least four $40 expansions? Ye gods! I guess that's just the price of offering this sort of "just make a bazillion different cards!" design as print-on-demand. Fortunately, Peter Jank has an ambitious looking mint tin game called Dragon Spark that's only $25. Depending on how this playthrough shakes out, I might be picking that one up.
