This looks absolutely wonderful. Your video perfectly encapsulates what I'm looking for in a voyage like this, without a word being spoken.

Beautiful! I haven't crossed during the winter and I've wondered what the allure was of a January crossing. Now I know and it's now on my bucket list.

@@WayfarerSketches Your Welcome. I had nice chat with you on Facebook yesterday and talk about QM2 and C &O Railroad Car ferries. I uploaded video " My car ferries trip on Chessie Car ferries " into You Tube this morning. I miss car ferries. I will go on QM2 next time. 😊

Also, I want to go on Alaska or New England/Canada cruise, too. I like QE and QV, too. They were beautiful ships and small ships. Did you go on other cruise trip before? I went on Caribbean cruise from Florida 9 times. I got tired of it and modern ships. I love S.S. Norway and S.S, Rembrandt. They were gone. Too bad that I didn't go on older QE. Did you go on older QE?

We are on this ship for 4 weeks in November. Two transatlantic crossings and two weeks in the Caribbean can't wait now. Will need a diet once we get home.

'Will need a diet once we get home' - You certainly will! The desserts, in particular, are impossible to resist 😊 We were on the Eastbound crossing three weeks ago and absolutely loved everything about it. The weather was a little kinder than it is in this video, though 😎

She is an engineering marvel and no wonder she can withstand such monstrous waves. She is equally very classic and graceful as her name

I was on the Queen Mary two years ago when the crew were washing a small area of deck, perhaps twenty feet across, beside where I was sitting. It was covered in foam-one crew member was doing the actual cleaning while two others stood, one on either side to stop passengers crossing. There were also cleaning in progress cones. An American couple came up and asked if they could pass. The crew member said it might be slippery-if they could wait a couple of minutes until he'd rinsed it or else they could go inside and come out again the other side of the area in question which would take perhaps thirty seconds.Instead they chose to walk across and the woman promptly fell-not heavily as she clutched the crew member and he more or less lowered her down.Cue screeching, yelling, threats of suing.I was called to the Purser the next day and asked to be a witness for the ship-the couple were both attorneys and were indeed going to sue for negligence. As I said, that was two years ago and the case is STILL ongoing.I had to go back to the States to give evidence (on the Queen Mary both ways, fully paid for by Cunard!) and I'm hoping it continues andIi get another trip! The couple will ultimately lose, there's no way they can possibly win but why does the legal process in the United States takes so long?

There was some Atlantic storm also from NYC to Bermuda on January 12th to 13th. The ship was swaying a lot. It was on Norwegian Getaway. Except we did not have snow, we had strong winds and rain.

I've posted this on other videos, but I'll add it here as well: that promenade can be surprisingly cold--even in August. The middle of the Atlantic Ocean is cold in the summer and colder in the winter. That's not meant to discourage anyone from making this trip. It's just meant to encourage travelers to take a warm jacket or coat (no matter the season) in order to enjoy the fresh air and exquisite ocean views while making the crossing.

Totally cool!! The only way to travel❤. Why don’t more people do this? I know you want more time at your destination and may not have enough time built in for getting there And there are people like me 🤮🤮🤮. But this is so classy ❤. But I guess more people want the floating shopping malls and theme parks.

Thank you W Sketches for your reply. Always looking for any news on Queen Mary 2. That crossing I had her tracking / position in tandem with one of the storms Queen Mary 2 was on its Southern Flank toward the eastern edge of the Grand Banks. The storms central pressure was at 967 HPA, thus snow and storm force conditions. Thanks to NOAA MSLP Chart of Atlantic. Again I appreciate your response I may get a chance to sail with her later in year Brad Donaldson

I don't think QM2 travels the Long Island Sound. She usually travels the Atlantic Ocean alongside the southern shore of Long Island, then under the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge into New York Harbor. She enters Buttermilk Channel with her port side to the pier.
