Very cool winning an award for the orange truck. When I had my 61 Impala, I won my first ever award and I was dumb founded that I won something. So its just a sign of things to come and I am looking forward to the crew cab being up and running. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure if this applies to your exact issue but I had a Chevy that wouldn’t do an immobilized learn when trying to add a key and it turns out the TPMS and the immobilized were tied into the same module. It’s the remote control door lock receiver. Would it be by chance that you’re having some issue with that module not being able to receiver the proper signal for whatever reason. Not a good chassis ground, maybe the signal isn’t clear through the thickness of metal from an older vehicle, damaged upon removal and installation? I would bet the issue with it not starting has to do with the theft system first. That’s where I’d start. The ECM will not allow voltage to the starter on the signal circuit if it senses its in theft mode. Hope I can help.

Yessir I suspect anti theft, but I am bound and determined to get it figured out no matter what it ends up being
@CompactGarage

@@MonsterCustomFab-Hotrods I know exactly how you feel. You’ve already done all the hard work by getting the cab and everything onto that chassis. I have no doubt you’ll be able to figure out the other issues. It’s definitely a unique build and one I’d love to see come to completion. The tach dropping out is also a unique concern but I’m not certain it could be tied to any other issue except if they share a ground. Best thing to do at this point is scan the codes and see if there’s some open circuits. Then find a wiring diagram online and start chasing the problems.

I didn’t say it in the video, but the code that I have is p2509 intermittent power to tipm/ecm and U0001 can c bus, After going back and watching this video when I edited it, when I was sitting in the driveway, it wasn’t showing up. I think the overall issue is the VATS system, that’s why it won’t start, I certainly don’t think the Bus communication is the kill factor that I’m having with the truck, I had bus codes for a while on the second gen and it still ran fine just had funky gauges
@CompactGarage
@CompactGarage Ай бұрын
@@MonsterCustomFab-Hotrods that code could have something to do with it. It depends on what is in the Can bus circuit that has lost communication. You can loose communication to some modules in a vehicle and have no issues but others will disable a bunch of other things. I believe that code is for the can bus high speed and if it’s lost comm with one module in a line, it’ll knock out comm with every module after that too depending on how they communicate. If that code wasn’t there before the swap, I’d start chasing that.

It was a clean truck before before I tore into it, I left out a bunch of the trouble shooting I did, that stuff would be boring to video, I know that is def my issue, I’m afraid I fried the tipm. I’m gonna get a better scan tool than I have and look at parameters, I’m also gonna delted the vats system and I certainly hope rhat fixes it

I bought a scan tool. It's a great investment for someone that works on any vehicles nowadays. I got the xtool brand scanner from Amazon and it does great by me. I'm not a professional mechanic but very mechanically inclined. Erasing codes might make a big difference in what your issues are. Also the brake light on is more then likely from no ebrake. My 04 duramax lb7 has the same light on all the time because of no ebrake either. Oh, by the way. When you get a scan tool. Good word of advice is, don't tell anyone that you have a scan tool. Everyone and their mother will be asking for you to scan their vehicles to get rid of the check engine light to go off.

The black truck has primer that’s about 15 years old, had it all primed and pretty and ready for paint and was driving it around and someone pulled out in front of it, and finished painted the interior of the black cab around that same time that silver color. and I have no idea how old the blue truck paint is. I would say the guy that had it before me did that and would guess about 5 years or so

Add what you need to The front and stretch that panel to match…the hood coming forward to meet the grill is what you want and add more length to the hood so it has more of a stock feel…just reinforce the hood so it doesn’t buckle on you…longer hood…maybe even reverse the hinges to the front so it hinges at the front

I'm not sure how stock looking your going for. Or how custom it's going to be. My thought is to pull the bottom of the grill in about the 3in you have room for. And do the wrap around bummer to the fender opening like the guy above mentioned. It would help with the wide selection that's throwing off the look. I think it would look pretty badass with the grill slanted back with headlight hat brimming over top. I would have made the back doors as suicide doors. That truck would be a sweet truck to build.
