Video was very helpful. I didnt remove the surge tank or battery tray. But watching this before i attempted tonight it was pretty easy remove and install. Unfortunately i ended up removing the master cylinder all together due to internal leaking. After installing the new hydraboost

Ford never could build a front end in these trucks

My 2011 6.7l powerstroke manual says that the sterling 10.5 rear diff has lifetime synthetic fluid that doesn't need changing. Another thing I heard a Ford tech say, if it has a electric locking rear diff there's no need for limit slip additive.🤷♂️

If the hydro boost will the power steering still work but no power to the brakes?
@USAF992 ай бұрын
The brakes shouldn't ever fail because of the Hydroboost. It's merely a hydraulic assist, meaning less foot force to do the same work. If the HB has failed, it will just take more pressure on the pedal to stop. If the HB fails catastrophically and there's Power Steering fluid leaking everywhere, you'll most likely destroy the PS pump and have no power steering. Both should work, however, more difficult to use.
@mattroberts95692 ай бұрын
@@USAF99 that seems to be my problem. The brakes work it just takes more there is no assist. But the steering seems normal. So should be the hydro boost. Hope so because I already bought the hydro boost. Thanks for making the video, gives me a good idea. My truck is a 2009 Ford f250 with a 6.4.

I think k I have the exact problem my mamalona been greasing up my oil pan from right under my turbo. I think it's leaking because the stains seem to match exactly what is going on with yours. I've got it serviced with the cab off and they seem to do a good job just forgot to do that as well. 4000 dollars. Anyways I don't think I'll be going back and I rather buy me a 3 to 4 thousand lift and service my trokita on my own thanks to these great videos that I find online. It was leaking constantly I though my truck would have been toast. My oil rod doesn't seem to read the proper oil so I have to deal with that. Anyways I changed the oil yesterday and I had 20 to quarts. I added oil think a large amount was leaking. As it turned out it was minimal leak but damn it's scary. Thank you for all your help.

So I am a new owner of a F550. Which has had a motor replaced with another 6.4 crate moter. I am a service hydraulic mechanic with a service bed and with crane; to help my customers. I am of concern about the longevity of this motor and provide me an excellent overall performance. (Not as a into racing or into tractor pull performance). But as a road warrior taken all considerations of the PTO idle when operating crane for long periods. The 7.1 average mile per gallon, cause all the tools I carry as a mechanic.... it is a costly trip to help my customers. Yet I want any and all steps required to delete, add, or replace; wether exhaust, electrical, or internal concerns to make my truck perform as my Cheverolet 2005 900,000 mile truck had performed. Thanks , The Tractor Snapper' Texas

Pretty much watch the videos on my channel. That sounds like a cheap reply, but I am after the same thing with my 6.4. I just turned 200k on it, and it runs like brand new. These motors get a bad rap because little johnny doesn't change his oil and fuel filters. You're kind of limited as to what you can remove as your truck will be on public roads. As mine is a farm truck, I can get rid of all the emissions crap that kills these motors.

If you want quick and obtainable, the box stores sell a Doorman 600402, the vacuum control solenoid. It's right up on the right side core support/radiator area, very easy to access. Or you can go to the ford house and ask them for the 4x4 vacuum control solenoid.

Have you ever replaced the joints at the front wheels? They dry up and start popping. In Fords infinite wisdom, they made them sealed. Jack up the front, lock in hubs manually, have a helper steer through the range L/R while you spin the wheel. Feel for sticking or binding at any point during a turn. Both in the steering wheel and the actual front wheels. Or, just replace them, if you haven't it's probably time.

Also where the hoses went between the frame and the body use what I call a softener like somthing like a length of fire hose to run your lines through just to help stop chafing wearing your links through from the metal parts vibrating and rubbing against those lines. I know a few volunteer firefighters. So I can get my hands on some old pieces of fire hose but old tube rubber most tire shops will give you that. Then tap it around your lines zapstrap it all up should be good for years.👍

I suppose you could install it in the engine bay, but the filter and housing is pretty large-- there's not a lot of room in there. You really don't want to rig anything on this as one leak and all your coolant is gone.

MasterPro has become absolute garbage. It took me 3 rack and pinions on my wife's Yukon to get one that worked and didn't leak. Now I am about to install the third power steering pump. Failures. growling, leaks. For the racks, I have had to pay for a front end alignment each time. Unhappy does not describe where I am. I am just glad I paid the extra for the "lifetime warranty" parts or I would really be screwed.
