That’s an sr5 4x4 with only atrac, stock tires , and no lift correct ? I hear they recommend vehicles with at least 33” tires (?) good try tho.

I believe that you will need to put that one skid plate under the other skid plate, if i am looking at this video right, it looks like the front of the vehicle, you would want it to be a smooth slide from front to back, no lip to catch on, am I wrong here? Are you glad you got the aluminum ones over the steel? I dont do a ton of rock crawling, but do go through some tough desert trails, I dont want the weight of the steel, I think that the aluminum would probably hold up, the biggest advantage would be to not have to take all that shit off anymore when I do an oil change. Good stuff, guys! You don't need a lifted truck but I gotta say a lift and tires makes these trails a piece of cake! I don't ever remember anything getting technical at all. It was gorgeous all the way though!

@tacoteng2095 definitely not needed but it makes for more fun! I agree. There are some spots that can get more technical depending on which line you take which is what I did

@Scottstunts I'm sure you'd have to trim at least a little bit. Not sure otherwise. I have a 2" lift and still trimmed a bit

With a zero offset would you still need to trim and have a lift or could they just go on stock? Maybe with some trim?

Hey buddy, it’s mind-blowing how the base SR5 can keep up with a TRD off-road. I was a bit let down when I got an SR5 because of the limited availability of the TRD off-road. But after watching this, I’m totally impressed with the SR5’s performance with the TRD off-road. .

@AP24673 it's pretty awesome how well the 4runners do in stock form. Mine (blue) has a 2.5" lift and 33s so it's slightly modified but still it's crazy how great they are stock. Only thing I'd want an Offroad or Pro for is the locker but I haven't needed one

@ I was wondering if there are any aftermarket lockers we could install in the SR5 that might perform even better than the ones that come with the car? I heard about some ARB air lockers and stuff but don’t know how reliable they are.

@@AP24673Arb lockers are very reputable. There are pros and cons to air and electric lockers so just research them. The TRD locker is just fine but it’s only in the rear.

If you go in the spring you won't be doing these trails. They don't open till Julyish and sometimes Imogene doesn't even open in July depending on snowpack. Always check trail conditions in Colorado before trip planning.
