I've only ever used the NS popups they always produced a bite. Snowman style. Assuming the carp were actually feeding on my spot. Location is everything. My fishing mate and I can be three feet apart. One can catch and one can blank. That's why it's called fishing not catching 😂

I'm sure there is a magic bait a bit like catnip for cats and aniseed for dogs. The bait manufacturers probably know what it is but won't release it. Just an opinion

The original tied slip-d rig didn't allow you to change the hook. Tie the d the same way as a multi rig and you have a Multi-Slip-d which makes it possible to change the hook 😉

In three years of carping I’ve never caught on a zig The lakes I fish are a uniform 4ft deep so I’ve tried 2 ft from bottom as an obvious depth Floating baits are banned

Kinda defeats the object of the film. = Buy this bait and you'll blank. I like Northern specials but they are just a bait like the rest. The only magic ingredient is finding the fish and hoping they are peckish.

The object of the film was to inform people about the Northern Special range and if a fish came along, added bonus 😊 But yes, the key is to be on the fish, as we only had a short day and we didn’t see much, we didn’t have a lot to go on.

Just some input on your question, I use Live system spring and another companies fishmeals in summer. Late Autumn and winter is all particle and maggots/casters

Pro-Stim Liver is a great year round bait. Mixing with live System is also a good option like Sean is doing in this video.

If a carp is interested in feeding it will pick it up regardless of color. I use live system all year round sometimes with a bright pop sometimes with a hard hook bait 👌

This time of year it's key to use a visual bait to increase the chance of a bite. During the warmer months it's not as necessary as the carp will be digging around for food.

I fished Elsons early this year Feb/Mar, i blanked but saw quite a few up in the corners of the lake..Was my 1st session on that lake but will definitely be back.

Stanwick is decent mate..I've fished Elsons and Mallard, some good fish in all lakes but Mallard & Swan can get really busy. Well worth a visit

Genuine question..........why do carp supposedly take fishmeal boillies/baits less in winter........... yeah i heard when you mentioned breakdown times and oil content but surely they can't tell the difference? Or is it solely because they'll be able to eat more of low oil baits giving you a better chance? 6:34

I've fished for carp for almost 40 years, without doubt it's the best bait I've used and the glugged hookbaits are phenomenal. I've no intention of ever changing bait.

Can you buy it frozen in Angling Direct? Have looked but never seem to have frozen bloodworm or frozen snails in my local shop. I have tried the compound though.

No....Frozen Bloodworm is only available from our website. Snails have been an issue recently due to various weather conditions creating Harvest problems. We are hoping this changes over the next few weeks.

We did see a small 2 or 3 week period where this was out of stock this year. Unfortunately this was unavoidable due to import restrictions changing (common since Brexit) which delayed our supply. We understood this was frustrating for our customers and announced it back in stock over our socials as quickly as possible.
