I installed a Borla on my 95 F-150, factory pipe with gutted cats and the Borla in place of my factory muffler. Very nice upgrade. Better flow and it sounds great. A nice low pitched steady grumble, smooth hum on the highway. I recently purchased an 05 Trailblazer and this video confirms it for me, Borla has an exhaust tone that I'm looking for. Quiet but alive.

I have an 05 SV650 with an 09 engine in it, it somehow ate up all the oil in one week, I check it frequently but not daily. I managed to unseize it I think but now it idles at around 1k instead of the 1.5k ish it used to, and it has some fairly bad knock. What do you think it might be?

Nice explanation! Can you give me your advice? I found a good deal on a sv650 with only problem being the tank was flooded with rain. He got to a mechanic that cleaned the tank, carbs (and i hope oil and drain holes too) and it run again fine. For a while, then again it stopped working (it's been sitting since that fro 6months). Do you think serious damage could have been done? Or i should risk it ?:P
@PASSIONBUILTАй бұрын
It could be a number of things causing the bike not to run. If you’re not up for the challenge of troubleshooting. I would avoid. Especially if it’s a carb model (Gen 1 1999-2002). Those tend to be temperamental especially if they’ve been sitting outside in the elements for long periods of time.
@panagiotisgiannelos3767Ай бұрын
@@PASSIONBUILT Thanks for the warning ;) I'm up for a troubleshooting challenge, but not for a rebuild for sure 😬
@PASSIONBUILTАй бұрын
If you’re worried about that. Double check the compression numbers and ask them how good the bike wheelies. If they say the bike wheelies great and they wheelie it all the time. Walk away. And if compression numbers don’t look good. Walk away. Expect to do a valve adjustment soon if the bike has over 25k miles.

My SV1000 doesn't start anymore. I get all the lights/power but the fuel pump doesn't prime. I also can't get the bike in 'dealer mode' anymore, when I still could I got a C42 error. Anyone have an idea what it could be?
@PASSIONBUILTАй бұрын
C42 usually anti theft. Possibly the ignition switch being faulty or you may have a case of the “green connector of death”. If you have an aftermarket ignition switch. That may be the cause. But I would check the connector from the wiring harness from the ignition switch. That connector tends to overheat and melt causing “the green connector of death” resulting in this issue. Let me know what you find.
@justcallmedave530Ай бұрын
@PASSIONBUILT Thanks for the quick reply! Ignition switch seems fine, green connector is good. The switch measures 100ohm resistance. And I've measured continuity to the ecu. Strange thing is that I cannot get the bike in dealer mode anymore.
@PASSIONBUILTАй бұрын
Interesting. Check your clutch switch. Make sure it’s functioning. Check your fuses and relays. If all is good. I’d suggest checking wiring. Maybe something got in there and chewed up your wiring. Hopefully your ECU isn’t fried. It isn’t common but can happen.
@justcallmedave530Ай бұрын
@@PASSIONBUILT I've found the problem. In my case the problem was corrosion in the connector for the right clip on. This was on the pins for the killswitch. Cleaned it a little and the bike works again.
