Honestly. Some of their watches are impressive… But to call this dial a marvel? Come on. It’s just a cream/white dial with some numbers. Boring with a generic movement. It’s not that impressive.

Size ?

I purchased one of these online this morning, it should arrive in about three days. I only got the red, because it was the cheapest of the metal-banded B5000s, it's not selling as well as the others. My preference was the blue one, but for some reason, it only comes with a resin band.

Thanks for that video. I’m waiting for my SD43. I’ve had the opportunity to try it on a few times now. It is a bit chunky. However I wear a Doxa 1500T(talk about chunky, 45mm), a Planet Ocean (43.5mm), King turtle and Willard (45mm), and a large Mido Ocean Star gmt (44mm)on a 71/4 in wrist. Although I’ve tried the SD43 on a few times and it seems ok, because it’s my first Rolex I’m still a bit apprehensive about the choice.

I thought the links were gold plated not solid?

Hi, Guys... I just checked in on this video to see how it aged, as I went on to eventually sell the SD 43 - that is a very long story, but in the end, it was because I also ended up acquiring a JC Deepsea 126660 and a Pelagos, and felt I had too many dive watches. About a month ago, I ended up, after trying many more watches, inlcuding a Blancpain Bathyscaphe, and a 5015 FF, an Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage, a 300M chrono, and even another, black dialed, Deepsea (the 2023 version), consolidated my collection once again, clearing way for yet another Deepsea 43 126600. I couldn't be happier. I am happy to see that all of the things that I said in this video remain true. I could say that I only wish I had heeded my own advice in the video, and didn't keep searching for "the perfect watch" by trying so many other brands / models, but in the end, experiencing all of those other watches has simply been part of my journey. I have now come to a point in my watch journey, where I absolutely know what I want, and are comfortable letting a lot of other "icons" go to the wayside, as I also know that they are not for me. The SD43 is amazing, and I could never really get it off of my mind the entire 2.5 years that I went without it :). Thanks again to Scottish Watches for giving me the chance to post my thoughts here (Rick has now moved on, but I know that Ricky and Dave are also awesome at including their fanbase in the process). Try it before you do, or do not, buy it, Folks...

IMO, the Vacheron Constantin Box is way better than any other in the industry(maybe there's better from independents), way better than Patek's Box

This is my beef with the SD43. It has the exact same dial size as the sub. Yes you read that correctly. How can you be a submariner on steroids when the dial size is exactly the same. Do better Rolex.

Trying to be crucially snobbish over a watch that's sub 1k says a lot about you.

Thanks for the review. I am looking for a good, non pretentious simple GMT that won't break the bank. Only need the extra GMT for flying. I am curious what is your wrist size? Mine is 18.5cm. I don't want a wall clock on my wrist. Regarding the eco friendly box and the snarky comments below....some people are always looking for inadequacies in others. Persoanlity disorder! LOL Love the ORIS GMT, despite the unpretentious non: silk lined, platinum plated box. LOL. Thanks for the review.

Great video!!! I had the same experience with my SD43 I sow so many videos that made me doubt until I went to a Rolex Ad and I tried both and SD43 was the winner by a mile, it looks like it was made for my 7” wrist

I just just received this watch today and your review is spot on. Selling this thing as soon as I get back from vacation. Here's why...it's beyond boring. I like you compared it to another homage the Tiger Concept 1655 and it's obvious how the Steinhart missed the mark. 1)The crystal is too flat, it needs a top-hat crystal. 2)The proportions are off regarding hands and indices. The dial is still too big or appears to be. The indices need to be a little larger or make the bezel bigger... It's frustrating buying a watch that you know you're not going to wear at all

Love mine! Superb value preowned. Own same example and ordered a brown leather Tudor strap to make it unique.

I love this watch, however, I wish it had a full sized second hand. It's such a waste having a small second hand complication, making it hard to fully appreciate that mechanical sweep.
