It's not advised to use a charcoal starter in a kamado and more so with a cheaper kamado. The high temperatures of the chaircoal is to sudden and make the ceramic ehm...in dutch we say 'startle'. This results in miniscule cracks in the ceramic and shortens the lifetime to an eventual big crack. This is even more so the case with the cheaper kamado's. So either a lot of the big-bbq-ers are over concerned or you're not doing wise using this.

Keeping the compost moist is the tricky part but this year has been more rain than sun so you should be good. I made a couple of 5ft strawberry towers out of 160mm soil pipe. I have them suspended from hanging basket brackets attached to the 3x3 fence posts.

Hi mate....did you need planning permission for that 5x5m cabin?
@mancaveprojects4693
@mancaveprojects4693 3 ай бұрын
No pal. Made sure the structure was just under the height limit where planning would be required. I had to take off the diamond shaped wood feature at the apex of the roof on the front and back of the cabin as that put me over the height.

Camera destroyed on that job with the footage of the final prep and painting. Took the 2 videos down as a result but asked by a few subscribers to put them back up again. If it was up to me, I'd have left them down. Sorry for the incomplete set. For the record, I've since started using another product - Peelaway 7 and got quicker results.

I also watched your shaving foam aircrete rocket stove form build. Planning to use that idea and method to build a rocket stove under an old heavy BBQ grill. So I’ll have both a grill and oven. Thoughts on this idea? Steve
@mancaveprojects4693
@mancaveprojects4693 3 ай бұрын
@@stevenrldenault7451 Sounds good. The rocket stove is going strong and is extremely efficient. The only downside is low structural integrity of both the main body and surface finish. Applying some form of surface coating would be ideal but I'm not sure what would work?

For those of you with a 2012 CC: Don’t remove the black piece on the yellow connectors. Once you push stationary clip to the side and get both yellow connectors to slide out of the rails: push down on the black piece on the connector wired to the car and pull the two connectors apart. The black piece going down allows just enough room for the yellow tab to release. It takes a bit of force pushing down the black piece and pulling them apart. Then reinstalling you push the two together and the tab on the connector w/ black piece should snap back into place.

regular wood glue bonds polystyrene foam. no clamps or weights. I did a test with a 4 inch block of wood and set it down onto 1lb polystyrene foam (one pound refers to the density, this is very light foam) and left it alone for a day. there was no added pressure other than the weight of the wood itself. the bond is so strong that the foam will break before the glue does. it works with foam-to-foam but will slip and slide around until the glue tacks up. advise letting a skin of glue nearly dry on both surfaces and then bond them. if you use anything containing petroleum distillates, it will melt foam. 3M 77 spray melts it, as well. avoid any adhesive containing toluene or acetone. HOWEVER one of the best adhesives for polystyrene is called Sta'Put (quite expensive) contains acetone just enough to cause excellent adhesion. I can't believe you're claiming wood glue doesn't work and that you went through a bunch of tests that a simple google search would have informed you to not bother.

I mixed 6 parts perlite, 1 part refractory concrete, 1 part Portland cement, and water, for the oven floor under the tiles, It's been curing for 5 days, but it hasn't fully hardened yet. I can still dent the surface with my nail. Could it be that I used too much water, and it won't cure properly? Or will it just take more time? Or could it be the mix itself?

A high pressure aero cloner would give you complete control and fine mist. Sprinklerponics works but no plant on earth needs that amount of water :) 3 nozzles will completely fill the tote with mist in a couple of seconds.
