My dough never turns out that consistency, it's always stickier even when I follow directions or add more flour
@plumbranchhome7 сағат бұрын
It sounds like your starter is more hydrated. This can cause a different consistency when making recipes. My best tip is before you make anything with your starter feed it 4-12 hours before starting a recipe. I recommend feeding it a 2:1 ratio of flour (unbleached all purpose flour is best) to filtered water. This will get it to a 50% hydration and will help with your issue. Example: Feed your starter 1 cup flour + 1/2 cup water and let the starter sit on the counter at room temperature until it's bubbly and has grow in the jar (about 4-12 hours). Your starter needs to be active, bubbly, and a thicker consistency to begin. This should help! If you ever have an questions, don't hesitate to ask!

For spices, you can buy in bulk, store in glass jars and just grind at home in batches. They don't go bad for years even at room temperature, so you can have fresh spice powder whenever you want.

I just started watching a documentary, “The Devil We Know,” about Teflon. It’s great motivation to make some swaps if you still have anything nonstick in your kitchen! I think I’m down to only muffins pans and mini loaf pans that are non stick - I can’t wait to have it all gone.

Great information! Thank you for speaking up! My opinion, any company that signs up a person to sell their products should educate them correctly. And that person to the next person selling the products. Just not to get a sale under them. Specifically when we ask how to use them or the ones we should use. So no harm is done. Sorry this happened to you, from the person you were under when selling their products! Reactions will be different for everyone like you was saying. Use with caution! I had a bad experience with YL oils also. What the lady (representative for years) had suggested was not a good thing. I learned the hard way also. Now I also have a reference book. Love the book you suggest much better!
@plumbranchhome14 күн бұрын
Of course! I agree 100%, the right education needs to be shared before anyone starts selling anything. I'm so sorry you had a bad reaction in the past. So glad you have a reference book on hand! I just came across you…your the 2nd person to mention aluminum foil 😮 I need to do my research! And how do I cook my sweet potatoes I love them wrapped in foil it keeps it moist. I like how you give alternative options like parchment paper…I wasn’t aware of that either!! Thanks! I will be subscribing. I’m on the hunt for kids lunch boxes but stainless steel are so pricey $30 each-and we homeschool so I can’t imagine spending that right now. I bought glass Ellos with silicone bottoms but my kids are 8, 6, 3 so I’m thinking stainless steel would be safer option! Leakproof too! Any suggestions?
@plumbranchhome15 күн бұрын
You're so welcome! I'm so happy this video was helpful for you! The potatoes are a hard one when switching from aluminum foil for sure! I like to pop my sweet potatoes and regular potatoes in a slow cooker with the skins on or cut up with liquid of some kind (water, broth, etc.) this helps them cook and stay soft without the foil. But if that's one thing that you really love and can't find a different way to make them, using foil for just that won't be the end of the world! Sure it's not nontoxic but if it's only once and awhile I always think it'll be okay. Hope that helps! Those stainless steel lunch boxes are definitely pricy for sure, I completely understand! The ones you have a great idea but I get having little ones you'd want to find something without glass. Here's a silicon option on Amazon that's nontoxic and a little more affordable that I would use: amzn.to/4g2XUcG
