Be careful of the light at the end of the tunnel, could be a train! Moisture on shiny floor tiles ain't nice to walk on. Textured with grip is better. Even though blue is not my favorite colour, the shades you have gone for is quite nice. I approve!!!! But, more importantly, does your better half. 😊 Which part of the Lucky Country are you from? Your lead-in depicts your from the Gippsland part of the mexican state, and not from the Premier State.

originally from WA, but worked all over. Mainly rural NSW/north Victoria. A few seasons in the ski resorts in the mountains. It's not actually as blue as the camera recorded it, and I'm sure the original colour cards were a bit darker...probably because Thais love to water down the paint!

nice house, can you tell me the size and cost per square foot. with all the tile had to go way up. love the drive thru shop. And what part of thialand? why thialand over another country like Cambodia? Yes I'm full of questions. of course single and want early retirement.

About 320 sq.m total including the large verandahs. It averages about 6000 baht/sq.m, for the basic house not including stove, water heater, air-con and the like, plus we are budgeting extra for upgrades and extras like the PU foam roof insulation. Tiles are remarkably cheap here, less than 400 baht/sq.m. if you want, so probably the cheapest flooring option. My wife is Thai, she always wanted to come back home eventually.

Very interesting, I shall track back on your progress. I'm a retired Irish builder living in a nice rental house in Chiang Mai but i'm a bit reluctant to build here.

I was a bit reluctant too, but the wife wanted to move back home. If not married I would have stayed in BKK renting. As an ex-builder you would probably be stressing out at the way some things are done on a Thai building site !

The Nikon 1 AW1 is still a very capable camera nearly 10 years after launching. The AF tracking at 15fps is very accurate and is very good in video mode as well. The 1 inch sensor (with RAW files) is streets ahead of the little sensors in phones or tough cams. And it has an optical zoom so there is no quality loss when going telephoto. And no expensive and clunky underwater housing needed!

That was really and explicative video, thanks broo! I won't buy a Go pro (for now) , I thought that my alternative camera is good enought to my videos (Malaysia and Thailand) But, i may buy a Nikon! really superior in my opinion. (Not all places are blue's tone, some need to be more neutral).

The new gopros (hero 6) have much better white balance, and raw capability too, so they are an option. Personally I have upgraded now to a G7X Canon in an underwater housing ....but probably not everybody's choice as that is an expensive combo for a casual snorkeller.
