Our House Build in Thailand, Episode 5

Episode #5 of our house build in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand.
What's happened over the last month ? Tiles, tiles and more tiles !
Also started on the kitchen fittings, and some more electrical work.
The end is in sight, but still in the distance...another month to go perhaps?

Be careful of the light at the end of the tunnel, could be a train! Moisture on shiny floor tiles ain't nice to walk on. Textured with grip is better. Even though blue is not my favorite colour, the shades you have gone for is quite nice. I approve!!!! But, more importantly, does your better half. 😊 Which part of the Lucky Country are you from? Your lead-in depicts your from the Gippsland part of the mexican state, and not from the Premier State.

originally from WA, but worked all over. Mainly rural NSW/north Victoria. A few seasons in the ski resorts in the mountains. It's not actually as blue as the camera recorded it, and I'm sure the original colour cards were a bit darker...probably because Thais love to water down the paint!

nice house, can you tell me the size and cost per square foot. with all the tile had to go way up. love the drive thru shop. And what part of thialand? why thialand over another country like Cambodia? Yes I'm full of questions. of course single and want early retirement.

About 320 sq.m total including the large verandahs. It averages about 6000 baht/sq.m, for the basic house not including stove, water heater, air-con and the like, plus we are budgeting extra for upgrades and extras like the PU foam roof insulation. Tiles are remarkably cheap here, less than 400 baht/sq.m. if you want, so probably the cheapest flooring option. My wife is Thai, she always wanted to come back home eventually.
