Hi, and thanks for watching. The Atari is back at my buddy's place, and I don't have any clear pictures of the back of the unit. I'll ask my friend to send some pictures over, and post an update afterwards for you. Though, and just shooting blind here, if there are no obvious screws, check if there are any hidden under the legs or stickers.

Any solution for LEDs?
@DiscountSasquatch
@DiscountSasquatch 14 күн бұрын
Just double-checked and used the same method for two different LED strings - a 120V one, and one that uses a 30v stepdown transformer. Same method seemed to work for both of them. The only caveat was (and I'm assuming this was due to bridge rectification) that one of the strings didn't want to reverse the flow of current when I turned the plug upside down - so, had to end up working from the far end of the light string, rather than from the bulb closest to the plug. Also, I'm assuming that this method will not work with a USB powered light string, as the voltage may probably be too low.

Hello, the more stick you populated often makes RAM unstable, and usually the advertised speed is guaranteed on 2 sticks only (especially since that's what most people is buying and putting on their system anyway). Since you populate all four that may explain the need to downgrade the speed. I think that particular kit is rated stable at 4000 for 1R, 3600 for 2R and 3200 for 4R which may explain why the expo profile offered was 4000 in the beginning. Doesn't really matter anyway since around 3200-3600 is the sweet spot for AM4. Most importantly hope you have fun on your new system!

Usually when you enable xmp it also raises the ram voltage to 1.35v, if you manually set it to 3600mhz it most likelly didnt change the voltage and i guess that why it wasnt stable at 3600mhz. So i think you can set it to 3600mhz but also need to raise the voltage to 1,30~1.35v. Also you may be able to undervolt the cpu at least 100mv, at least for my ryzen 3600 it set the vcore at 1.4v if set to auto, and i was able to set it to 1.275v and its stable.
@DiscountSasquatch
@DiscountSasquatch Ай бұрын
Thanks, I really appreciate the info. However, it looked like the auto function did have the voltage set to 1.34 for 3600. Still, I did try manually punching in both 1.3 and 1.35, but neither seemed to work. The CPU undervolt appears to be working though. I think I may just not have good luck when playing the silicon lottery. Will pin this comment in case it helps someone else!

In the UK this is sold as the VAX Blade 4. While it is to be expected that you have to remove the brush bar occasionally to remove the build up of hair, hair gets behind the brush bar drive and gets into the bearing. The bearing itself is fitted into the plastic shell of the brush bar. Hair gets in there and eventually seizes the bearing. This will either result in the drive cog being stripped, or the bearing spinning in the plastic casing until the plastic starts melting. The belt tension then drops off as the brush bar is no longer being held in its correct position. It is also common for the casing to crack as yours has during the jolt from the initial seize up. Build up of hair behind the brush bar drive (inner bit) is not visible when the bar is removed it is not possible to see the damage building up. You could of course remove the inner drive (yes that is a left handed thread) regularly and remove any build up, but this is a glaring design fault that mars an otherwise good product. A lot of people are reporting the wheels breaking off as well. There is no fix really and no spares so you can. Mine is very helpfully just out of warranty so i am stuck with buying a new floor head for £60 that i know is liable to fail as the original one did. If anyone knows whether the Blade 5 floor head fits that would be useful!

We got ours unfortunately from a passing of family on my wife’s side of the family. I hooked it up today and started playing. I heard a soft pop and my game froze. Tried turning it off and back on again and got the red green flashing with the error message. I didn’t see what error code it was. I was baffled because I never had an issue with the original Xboxes doing this in the past.
@DiscountSasquatch
@DiscountSasquatch Ай бұрын
Thanks for watching, and so sorry to hear that. It's possible that yours may not be in as rough a condition as this one though. If you're comfortable doing so, you can try opening it to check for any bulging capacitors, or any other obvious problems. That pop may have also been a capacitor blowing out as well, so do be careful. At the very least (any assuming it's not a version 1.6) the clock capacitor will need to be removed.

@@DiscountSasquatch I couldn’t tell if it was error code 01 or 07 as the tv I have cuts off the top for some reason so I couldn’t tell. I could be wrong, but I don't think error 01 is a thing. If it's error 07, it may be the hard drive. Though, to be frank, that sound you described does resemble the death throes of a capacitor, not the hard drive. Edit: Don't take this as gospel. I'm just an idiot on the internet.

I would get a schematic and start trouble shooting the eject line and checking the components around the video circuits. Their are resistor arrays attached to video out chip IC211 on the service manual. A short test on capacitors around the cpu and gpu is a quick way to test if they are dead or shorted.. I'm not 100% on this next statement but I think each bank of resistor arrays (RB246, RB244, RB242) is for the R G and B signals to the IC211 witch is the video DAC. they are an easy thing to test. Both the chips you are replacing are motor controllers. They wont help the video out issue. I would start with the video issue first as that will tell weather its worth chasing the motor issue.

Hey man, I have the exact same issue as your other GameCube board. Have you figured anything out on it? I don't see a dollow up video :( I don't believe it's a reballing the CPU issue, I just attempted to install a pluto 2ii on my dol-101, and now I'm having this exact issue. It was perfectly functional before, after a few enamel wires were installed it all of a sudden killed my GameCube, so yeah i don't think its a cpu issue. I think the AVE N-DOL chip on the board may have went bad, which is gonna be sad for me 😅 Edit: through trail and error with diagnostics, I've found that my fuse is receiving 12v but my power regulatory circuit is not functioning correctly, which is interfering with actually turning on the CPU & GPU, some sort of protection is tripped, and it cuts off the power to the coils in the circuit, cutting power to everything lol I believe this is the same issue as you, and I'm currently looking for the Power Regulatory Circuit schematics for the DOL-101 (Not the power regulatory board for the DOL-001) if anyone has em lemme know.

That looks like a magic v7 mod chip. As someone who has doen many ps2 mod chip installs I would call that a verry slopy install. It should be mounted on the qfp chip next to the bios chip and have muchshorter wires and they should be managed with a dot of glue to hold them in place. Also when installing the drive ribon cables its easyer to leave the metal shield with the drive clips off and putting it on after the cables are in.

The bushing on this gear is full of hair. There is a snap ring on the inside. You can take it off and pull it apart and clean out the hairs. I dropped liquid candle wax into gap between the key for the brush and the housing. I am hoping that the wax is minimizing the gap between housing and key so that it will let through less hairs.

New Sub: Dryden, Michigan. Never got to try one back in the Day. Just picked one up in Beautiful Condition, but it is having issues loading games. Seems like Tapping Controller one, or Occasionally Tapping the console itself causes the Screen to Glitch, but Typically it will not load past the BIOS Screen: Removing/Replacing a Cart will bring the BIOS Screen back up, but some of the Letters Randomly have Different Colors and the screen just sits there. The Cartridge Slot Itself doesn't seem to take a Cart directly in, You have to Rock it.. I just Tore it Down, everything looks nice, No Dust even. Best Video I've found so Far. Thanks

Thanks for watching, and glad I could provide some (limited) help. There's a second video where I fix the warranty replacement vacuum that was sent out (and broke three months later... so, yeah, these are not great vacuums). kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXecmKWibcShl8k Not sure if I'd recommend the oil, as that may just end up getting all gummy once it starts incorporating itself with dirt. But, one thing I'd recommend checking is the condition of the mating surfaces on the roller. I had to end up filing down some bumps and nicks on the surface of that second vacuum for a similar reason iirc. Also, do a sanity check to make sure all hair is cleaned off, as it's easy to miss some on the end of the roller. Lastly, the default belt that comes with the vacuum does seem to be quite loose. I even ordered some replacements thinking it was worn out, but... yeah, those belts were also loose. If you have some heavy duty tape (this is not a permanent fix), you can try winding some around the roller so that the belt fits more snugly. If that eliminates the noise, you can try getting a belt that's maybe a few mm shorter? But, yeah, I got this vacuum for free and I feel ripped off... I hope this helps you though.

Only some of the slims had the 4GB flash included. The NAND size varied as well (matters if you do the RGH3 mod). I bought 3 or 4 from eBay last year and I think only one of them had the internal flash storage. Luckily they just use standard 2.5" SATA drives, and you can 3D print an enclosure for using your own drives as well. Plus you can plug in a FAT32 flash drive. I was expecting you to do a lot worse with the clips when I read the comments first. They really are a nightmare when you haven't gotten used to them yet. I think I wrestled with my first 360 Slim for an hour before I got anywhere, but after doing a few I can get them open no problem. This is my first time hearing about those 0 ohm resistors, that's a pretty interesting problem.
