I wonder if it happens a lot in that particular area! It's a bit confusing with the cars parked inside the bike lane in the residential area. Thankfully the instructor is very understanding and probably took this into account.

Great video, and great camera work too! They are really detailed and even if they are slow, they seem like a great bargain for just 50 dollars. Just wished they also came with suspension, but oh well. This was a great video, God bless, Jesus loves you!

Great place for driving and proof that you can spend 50 USD on a toy grade RC car and still have a huge amount of fun! Plus, it looks good as a display model when you are not driving.

@@briangiven7399 I have seen quite a few reviews of these where people say they bought them for 49.99 USD at Costco. Not being in USA, I can't confirm what they are currently selling for.

@@briangiven7399 Yeah people bought some of these for reselling. At $100 after shipping, taxes, and fees, they'd be making a small profit. There was an option to buy these from Costco.com but they've been out of stock for weeks now, might not come back until next year.

Admittedly it is not especially fast but for the cost, it is a perfectly reasonable product. I have the Rastar F1 car in 1:12 scale that costs a similar amount but I would say the Maisto product is superior in virtually every respect. You can compare with my Rastar F1 MCL 36 car by checking the video on my channel, BlackSeaRC.

Nice POV action. I think the car is probably fast enough for this track as the turns are hard. At least I struggle with this track. I really like the F1 and even as a project car to perhaps upgrade the motor and ESC and really have a cool RC on the cheap. The body detail is spectacular.

Very nice looking F1's. I have visited the track a couple of times. On the week ends you find guys running cars around the track. Super nice that the city has this for people to enjoy. Nice job my friend. 👍 Cheers from Murrieta.

Nice, it's definitely awesome to have these outdoor activity options in our city! :) I just recently learned about the K1 outdoor go kart track in Winchester, looks like a lot of fun too I've been watching videos on youtube!

Hi community! Quick question: what should I buy here in the UK!?? I’m looking for my first RC car♥️ I love F1 games, so no experience drifting. Should I keep an eye on something with grip then? There's a wide range of options and prices! It also depends on where you can run the RCs. These RCs in the video are toy grade (but they look really nice!), so not as expensive as hobby RCs. They're slower, but that makes them more playable in limited spaces.

The range of RC F1 cars is surprisingly limited. A toy grade RC car will cost between 20-60GBP but in most cases the controls will be non-proportional. Something like the Rastar brand would be available in UK. For better all-round performance, you would be spending quite a bit more money on a hobby grade RC car. Some are available as kits you can build yourself (e.g. Tamiya). The advantages are far superior performance, greater strength and reliability, plus the availability of spares and parts to upgrade the car.

I'm using a GoPro Hero8. Older model but decent quality and size. In this video I'm just placing on top of the RC and taping it haha. But in the future I'll maybe glue an attachment point to make it easier.

What is the top speed? Is steering and throttle proportional?

12 mph (19 km/h) top speed. Yes throttle and steering are proportional, not as precise as hobby RCs but more than decent for toy grade.

Thank you for posting! I just passed my test today and watching the video definitely helped me feel more prepared and confident. This was the route they took me on. I had only 3 points. She told me to check over right shoulder blind spot as it was the main error. FYI they also ask what your hand signals are and to identify your blinkers, hazard lights, windshield wipers, defrosters etc.

I measured the motor, its close to a brushless 2838 in dimenstions with a 2.3mm shaft. I ordered the motor and a 35a esc. Plan on running 3S. the servo on these are 3 wires so dont plan on messing with it with the exception of changing the connectors for it to match a regular receiver. hopefully the conversion will go as smooth as it should seem. Ordered a pinion puller to re use the original pinion. this has to be one of the best budget scale RC of an F1 racer ever made in my opinion.

That would be awesome if you can make it work! It might get too fast with the motor and 3S upgrade though, might end up being hard to control! I agree these look great and really cool for the price :)

Was she older? I had an older woman that could have been either black or Mexican or mix. And I passed with 3 points taken off. She was strictly business but we were both polite to one another. it went way better than I expected.

Things are changing for sure, access will probably be inconvenient in the coming short term. Most likely losing a bunch of trails mid to long term. But a bunch of trails should remain rideable, just need to try the other ways in.

Maisto website FAQ says they don't sell replacement tires (nor parts), and best shot would be to go to a hobby store to find alternative options.

Haha, everyone knows the Red Bull will be aggressive, don't let it have the inside line! Interesting commentary on the last race about Max understanding the rules and exploiting the gray areas a bit better. Or maybe like racing game dive bomb to force computer controlled cars off the track.

Thanks for the comment! This is in our neighborhood park in Murrieta, California. It's fairly new, from what I read it looks like local RC enthusiasts proposed it to the city and played a big part in planning and getting it approved. Really cool because there are many other courts and fields in the are so it was cool that our park built something different :)

Not too bad on the tires, I think the cars are slow enough that they could last a bit. Full turns at speed causes the tires to fight each other and the front end to bounce though. One time there was a hobby racer going around the same track and he says his tires only lasts him a few runs, so these are more durable than that.

Yeah too bad there's no real suspension. Handling isn't too bad after getting used to it and making some adjustments (letting off power when turning, smaller turns, etc). Pretty good for a toy RC, but definitely not as good as hobby grade ones.

Yeah, lots of fun to bring the kids outdoors and try some "real life Mario Kart" as they sometimes describe it. The RC track in the park is awesome, I think a bunch of enthusiasts in the area suggested and worked with the city to have it built. It's an awesome addition since there are already a lot of courts, fields, and playgrounds not too far away.

I bought six for a 1/10 scale oval/rollville / road course carpet track in my shop which is huge and I put a 20 turn brush motor in them with two s lipo batteries and a cheap steering server so has proportional steering will better steering and man it's a blast I've had it up to 35 miles per hour top speed down the longest straight away on my track that goes into a sweeping bank turn that I made with wood and it's crazy on how fast these cars go after you upgrade them and they're fun to drive and they're pretty tough too And they're fun to race stock because we're slow like more of a scale speed but it's kind of boring because they don't go fast enough visually so even though they're going scale miles per hour stock I still wanted them to go 20 to 30 mph which is 300 mph scale

Ooh nice, thanks for sharing your upgrades! sounds doable for future projects. I agree these are fun but a little more beans would definitely be good. It Doesn't have to be as fast as the hobby RCs because they'll be less playable. Also those brushless speeds would scale to impossible speeds and wouldn't look nice on FPV. Your upgrades sound like a good way to go!

@@CuddlePool33 make sure every time you switch lanes to first, signal check mirrors, and then check over the shoulders and go. They don’t make you parallel park but they do Make you back up but it’s easy they tell u when to stop but remember before pulling in or out of the curb parking to sign, check mirrors, and over shoulder!! watch you’re speed and make sure when coming on to a stop to fully stop count to 3 then go! If you know that then you will pass fs! 🫶🏼

It doesn't seem like they're designed to be easily replaceable, and I haven't seen replacement parts. A DIYer should be able to use some hobby RC parts but probably won't work directly and would take some effort.
