Nice POV action. I think the car is probably fast enough for this track as the turns are hard. At least I struggle with this track. I really like the F1 and even as a project car to perhaps upgrade the motor and ESC and really have a cool RC on the cheap. The body detail is spectacular.

I measured the motor, its close to a brushless 2838 in dimenstions with a 2.3mm shaft. I ordered the motor and a 35a esc. Plan on running 3S. the servo on these are 3 wires so dont plan on messing with it with the exception of changing the connectors for it to match a regular receiver. hopefully the conversion will go as smooth as it should seem. Ordered a pinion puller to re use the original pinion. this has to be one of the best budget scale RC of an F1 racer ever made in my opinion.

That would be awesome if you can make it work! It might get too fast with the motor and 3S upgrade though, might end up being hard to control! I agree these look great and really cool for the price :)

Love the image stabilized on board camera!! I did a short choppy video of this a few days ago, nice to see someone else post a good video! Love the track! Yeah, the speed is meh at best, I think it's a decent display piece. but great to do 1 on 1 time trials and stay on course. Its all about knowing when to take you finger off the throttle to make the hairpin.

Hehe thanks, I just taped my GoPro and used my usual mountain biking settings, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked well :) The track is just the right size and layout to get some F1 feels. I agree that this is quite slow for an RC, but that's probably not a bad thing to keep it in one piece and so it's easier to play with and not dizzying with an FPV camera haha.

I bought six for a 1/10 scale oval/rollville / road course carpet track in my shop which is huge and I put a 20 turn brush motor in them with two s lipo batteries and a cheap steering server so has proportional steering will better steering and man it's a blast I've had it up to 35 miles per hour top speed down the longest straight away on my track that goes into a sweeping bank turn that I made with wood and it's crazy on how fast these cars go after you upgrade them and they're fun to drive and they're pretty tough too And they're fun to race stock because we're slow like more of a scale speed but it's kind of boring because they don't go fast enough visually so even though they're going scale miles per hour stock I still wanted them to go 20 to 30 mph which is 300 mph scale

Ooh nice, thanks for sharing your upgrades! sounds doable for future projects. I agree these are fun but a little more beans would definitely be good. It Doesn't have to be as fast as the hobby RCs because they'll be less playable. Also those brushless speeds would scale to impossible speeds and wouldn't look nice on FPV. Your upgrades sound like a good way to go!

3:40 it’s ok, but I would’ve replaced the front tires with foam wheels or all 4 wheels for better handling. It looks fun and fortunate to have a track .

Hi community! Quick question: what should I buy here in the UK!?? I’m looking for my first RC car♥️ I love F1 games, so no experience drifting. Should I keep an eye on something with grip then? There's a wide range of options and prices! It also depends on where you can run the RCs. These RCs in the video are toy grade (but they look really nice!), so not as expensive as hobby RCs. They're slower, but that makes them more playable in limited spaces.

The range of RC F1 cars is surprisingly limited. A toy grade RC car will cost between 20-60GBP but in most cases the controls will be non-proportional. Something like the Rastar brand would be available in UK. For better all-round performance, you would be spending quite a bit more money on a hobby grade RC car. Some are available as kits you can build yourself (e.g. Tamiya). The advantages are far superior performance, greater strength and reliability, plus the availability of spares and parts to upgrade the car.

Not too bad on the tires, I think the cars are slow enough that they could last a bit. Full turns at speed causes the tires to fight each other and the front end to bounce though. One time there was a hobby racer going around the same track and he says his tires only lasts him a few runs, so these are more durable than that.

I wish there was a actual RC track in our neighborhood park but we have a nice 1/10 scale indoor carpet track with AC and all it's beautiful facility for RC racing we do oval and road course

It doesn't seem like they're designed to be easily replaceable, and I haven't seen replacement parts. A DIYer should be able to use some hobby RC parts but probably won't work directly and would take some effort.

I saw the end film but how would you say the tires kept up? I have the same one as you but only a tennis court near me, wanted to know if the tires would get chewed up or not

Tires are ok, not chewed up and the texture on the tires are still quite good. I'm guessing the tires will wear out like rubber shoe soles eventually, but negligible wear for each run, just gets dusty.

No direct way to do upgrades since it's more of a toy vs. hobby RC. But if you have the skills to do DIY modifications, it looks doable given the wiring and possible space within the plastic body. A brushless motor would be sweet too. But as is, the RC is very playable.

@The3RoasterToasters this is an older GoPro Hero 8 Black, with a foam sleeve to prevent wind noise and provide some protection because I just taped the camera to the RC to quickly mount it and experiment.

Have you tried the trim adjustment using the remote? Hold the sound effects button, once flashing turn the wheel to straighten the steering and while still holding the steering in your desired direction, let go of the sound FX button. The steering should remain at whatever you adjusted to. I hope this helps you out? I had no luck adjusting mine using the physical knob on the car and discovered this adjustment in the manual

I wasn't able to measure yet, but since this is more of a toy RC (vs hobby or competition RC), I would guess around 9-12mph. It runs on fairly low voltage with only a 2s lithium battery.

Yep, definitely slow vs. hobby grade RCs. But decent speed for a toy RC and still quite fun just to play around with, the slow speed makes it more playable on driveways or courts and less prone to damage.
