Zman plastic is super soft and therefore not very weedless even on EWG.

I fish flukes exclusively with spinning combo. I use 12 pound leader at minimum with FG knot. I also target pitch and drop vertically around pole timber using a 1/16 oz pegged bullet weight on the nose. I need a vertical fall and use underhand pitching (some folks call it 'plinking') often using spinning gear. The small amount of extra weight helps casting distance. I used a 7'4" - 7'6"rod and a size 30 reel with high vis braid main line.

I like it!! Recently I have been having a lot of success fishing a fluke on the free rig pitching around cover and structure like submerged timber and bridge pilings in the winter. Sounds an awful lot like “plinking”. Thanks for tuning in!!

@HookLife
@HookLife 3 ай бұрын
Head shape and hook triangle and placement matter quite a bit when using these queen Tackle switchblade. I do not like the way that the blade contacts the head based on the shape of the head, and the position of the line tie on the head.

It’s pretty much the same with some new spots to learn like the riffles, current seams and eddy’s. Managing moving water and obstacles takes practice but is so much damn fun

The stupid tube is nice but if you’re tube gets tore you have to cut the line every time you need to change it but I found an awesome way to fish a tube weedless, the Trokar TK190 tube hook and regular Eagle Claw tube hook is a bit cheaper but it’s the same hook just sharpened differently but you can rig it Texas rig style and change your tube anytime you want
@HookLife
@HookLife 3 ай бұрын
That’s a good hack! I find that tubes are pretty durable and hold up to damage way better than most plastics, but…. Your right having to re-tie is a pain in the ass. Every time I have ever Texas rigged a tube it tends to have a different fall and does not spiral on the fall. Have you experienced that with that hook?

why do you use a leader with braid not just straits braids
@HookLife

1. I feel like the fish can see the braid. 2. I like the little bit of stretch the leader gives me while fishing single hook baits. It comes with a downside as having another knot in the system is like having a chink in your armor

Almost every Pro uses 110’s even when it conflicts with their sponsors! That says ALLOT!!! A local dude is selling me a new 110 max LBO for only $15 and a new Lucky craft for $10 so I’m psyched! I have over 30 different types of MegaBass lures that I’ve never fished! I’ve caught lots of strippers and smallies but not one Large mouth! I don’t live in Bass country like Texas.
