Those $15 switches will slow your speed down though unless you spend up and get a 2.5 or even a 10GB switch which is going to cost a whole lot more. MY only reason to build my own splitter would be in hopes to avoid that high dollar expense, I was thinking of using a small project box and using proper rated splice connectors and doing it that way, just wanted to see your video had to offer.

If this is all true, that means with the power of external usb hubs, you can theoretically have infinite monitors on 1 pc?

No need to terminate the cable on both ends.

Also this device essentially mirror the behavior of an ont box but without routing or other capabilities ont box would send a fiber signal in to your home through the ont also where it's converted in to a electrical signals that Ethernet cables can understand then ur router receives them this device does the same thing but in reverse these devices can also send and receive a constant flow of data resulting in better throughput and can update game servers current state in microseconds if the distance of the converter is close by thanks to fiber technology the reason its able to do this is because Ethernet signals can face interference by things like microwaves and signals from other general devices that fiber cables would normally be immune to

So the hdmi port on my TV broke and I want to play items off my laptop on the TV if I buy USB to HDMI Adapter as the USB slot is intact and then hdmi lead to my laptop, will it work?
@ComputerCableStore Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that will not work. The sending device needs to have the usb on it and requires specific drivers to operate.

i was hoping to use this for gaming, but you mentioned "very little lag". so despite similar devices reporting 0 latency, there is some noticeable delay?
@ComputerCableStore Жыл бұрын
I don't have specific numbers on latency but from my personal experience I wouldn't use it for gaming. It's great for basic use like Office or web browsing.

@hexise Жыл бұрын
There are some media converters which support single fiber, the fiber is thin and can be easily hide under baseboard, so it is very convenient if you want ethernet but the cable is too thick to hide, then you can use fiber instead.

could you please clarify for your future viewers on this video. the pinout chart you show is using white/orange & orange but you used the white/green & green. is there a difference? did you make a T568a loopback plug and the pinout chart your showing is T568b? also i created the 8 pinout version because some research is saying those pins terminated create a ground for proper testing ( not referring to the gigabit pinout ) what are your opinions. thanks for the video got me motivated to make one instead of buying.

No copper wires are copper wires..
@jamesbasedgod1389 Жыл бұрын
What KooLaid here is trying to say is that there is nothing inherently special about the individual wires in the cable since they are all made of copper. The color assigned to each copper wire is just an industry standard code that keeps everyone on the same page when running cables to ensure devices can communicate correctly with ease. In theory, if you know what each contact on the connector is responsible for when it's plugged into a device then you can wire the end connections any way you want as long as they're the same at both ends. That's why the wire color you pick doesn't matter when you're making this loopback plug, because as long as each wire is connected to the right contact then the plug will "loop back" on the circuit you made with the copper wire and communicate with itself.
