Dang. I can’t believe we finally finished the soundtracks to all 5 Touhou (PC-98) games. I don’t know which one is my favorite theme, as that’s really difficult to answer, but I’m going to say that these 5 games have some of the best and underrated themes in the series. Though, this is coming from someone who’s only listened to a couple of tracks from Touhou 6 and like, 1 track from Touhou 7, LOL (Border of Life). However, even though the later games will probably overshadow the themes that we have just listened to due to pure quality of composition and instruments and everything, the Touhou 1-5 soundtracks are all still good in their own right. So far, in my opinion, in terms of soundtracks, 5 >= (slightly) 3=4 > (not by much) 1=2 5 definitely has the best instrumentation, and probably the best soundtrack of the 5 games. 1 and 2 sound kind of outdated in terms of instrumentation but they’re still pretty good. 4 has ‘more advanced’ instrumentation than 3, but 3 has more bangers. Some could say that 4’s ‘guitars’ are kind of ear-grating but that’s up to opinion. 5 has a great soundtrack, though. Overall, the PC-98 themes range from ok to great. They’re pretty underrated and aren’t bad. If they are ever ideally and officially remastered with modern instruments they would sound AWESOME, tbh, and would probably be better than the Windows games music by far. Sadly, I don’t think that’ll happen. Now. NOW, it’s FINALLY TIME for the Touhou (Windows) soundtracks!!!!!! Let’s see how Touhou 6 EoSD’s soundtrack holds up against the Touhou (PC-98) compositions :D Btw, the PC-98 soundtracks are good but the instrumentation isn't really the best, imo. The cruddy PMB patches kinda bring them down. Like if you boot up Touhou 1, the music is pretty high-pitched especially during the first boss. If they had more professional instrumentation like the PC-98 games Rusty and Black Bird, instead of built-in PMD patches or poorly made ones created from the ground up, they'd probably be some of the best in the series in terms of music, and even better if masterfully remastered with modern instrumentation... I still like them though XD

I'm back!! I just took a little break. Don't think for a SECOND that i stopped listening to Touhou music! I will keep persisting until I listen to every single one of them and give my honest opinion, lolz :) Great soundtrack overall, I guess. Good SOUNDTRACK!!! The best of the trilogy, can't wait for 4 and 5! <: Too bad it's underrated because most people immediately skip 1-5 OST and start at 6 instead for some reason... But still, I'll admit that 6 has some bangers and im excited for 7 because of border of life Lastly, some themes are Pretty loud like the last track (Phantasmagoria) since primitive hardware like the pc-98 can make it kind of earrape but still good lol

There are some ear-piercing parts in "The Positive And Negative" in this enhanced version, but overall, still a GREAT soundtrack!! c: The instrumentation could be better, though

let me start by saying how freaking amazing this soundtrack is. Yes, there’s way more trumpet use but in my opinion, it was nailed EVERY TIME. I loved nearly every theme. It was so good, I have no idea which track is my favorite or my least favorite at all. They all range from good to insanely awesome !! I think this soundtrack blows any music before 7’s out of the water. Stage 4’s music makes anything from the PC-98 era look like a joke, jeez, and those soundtracks were pretty decent. 8’s music has so much complex stuff and everything and it still sounded so EPIC, DARK, SAD, and MOTIVATING at the same time. I don’t know what the composer was on, but THIS is how you make music. I am actually so excited to play this game. I’m probably biased, but in my opinion, 7 = 8 > 6 > 5 = 7.5 >= (slightly) 3=4 > (not by much) 1=2 I don’t know what to say but what a masterpiece, man. Truly a top-tier soundtrack. I don’t know how good Touhou 9’s OST will be, but at least it's a continuation of my quest to listen to every official Touhou music ever made. Wow. :O Also the credits theme sounds like podd maple dream, lol

I liked having the character rip up out of the ground, and throw signs also. Perhaps it was my way to indirectly (and safely) get out pent-up anger, and be wild/destructive without being a criminal.

Then a single remaining one builds a s*it ladder, out of brown c*ap. This is not an interesting puzzle, this is an insult to intelligence. If you can build a c*ap ladder anywhere, and if you can soak through walls like a potent acid, anywhere, what's the point of forms, structures, and reality? A really weak, abominable game...
