The amount of hours I spent playing this game is unreal, one of my all time favourite strategy games, pure nostalgia and feel like yesterday! Love it

nostalgia indeed. And we are not that young anymore...

I spent hours playing this game in the 90's...and the fact, that when you could upgrade your railway to monorail and later to maglev and did not know, it was a matter of one click, but instead demolished the line, piece by piece and replacing it with the new one, that blew my mind :D one of the best games ever! some 10-15 years later I tried to play the newer versions of this game, but never lasted more than minutes and ended up deleting the game. This is a fantastic game!

I was born in '97 and started playing this Version at a very young age just messin around but also learning how the game works and build big Companys... I still have the Big Box of TTDLX but now I play OpenTTD with the original Graphics and Music.... it's still nice to come back to the "original Version" and see the things that were different back then... (no multi-direction rail tool and no infrastructure on sloped terrain for example).... very fond memories of my childhood.

@SnoVVdogsPks4 жыл бұрын
@@TTDLX Why not, you can play Openttd exactly the same as you would TTDLX? I see it as TTDLX with better UI. You don't have to use all the advanced features like path signals, pre signals, etc... Keep the original GFX and sfx and you have TTDLX with with improved ui.

Why do you sometimes remove railway so trains are forced into depot every run?
@MaartenvanHeek6 жыл бұрын
That's a trick so that trains are never overdue for a service, or to prevent them going off course for the 'nearest' depot for a scheduled service. This keeps them from breaking down, and having reliable trains also helps with the station ratings as far as I know.
@TTDLX6 жыл бұрын
So they don't break up and hold up other trains, it's to force them to take a bath.
@MaartenvanHeek5 жыл бұрын
@hajanek except if there is a depot close to their location, but in a one way direction away from their destination and then they get lost. That's why I'd turn breakdowns off, and set the interval to infinity. But I already said that before :)
