In short, if you like history, alt history, vampires and/or cute girls, this is the stuff for you. The one and done season anime, the ones that fly a little under the radar, are some of the ones I like the most. One of my favourite is Ergo Proxy, but more than that, my all time favourite anime is its director's previous work, Witch Hunter Robin. Irina, the Vampire Cosmonaut is right up there with those. They're an odd and, almost, "hipster" selection of favourites, but they're all ones that hit the mark for the kind of fantastical I enjoy.

I came back from reading 2 books, and watched the anime too, the anime only covers the first 2 books anyway. Before I talk about The Executioner And Her Way Of Life -Virgin Road-, I want to say that not that unique and popular isekai become average, but because of their popularity, more and more isekai follow them to the point that it become average. The source is not really all that good neither, but it got a grand reward and rushed made into an anime. First of all, the whole concept of it, as the writer put it, was "Chuunibyou Yuri Isekai" and he just didn't think about deepening the bond or anything at the time of writing, as he stated. He didn't even believe the grand prize existed when he send his manuscript. Anyway. I think it got the prize just because it is well executed enough for story telling and it has novel concept. The source is much deeper than the anime, but not much world building is done. I believe the author wants us to learn it through story, looking in a lens of husk Akari. Because this is Chuunibyou, surprises is very important, however, the story really told in the lens of Menou, so it's a bit weird that we don't know what she knows. The anime has a lot of things executed differently from the novel, and because the multi-timeline nature of Akari's power, I see it as another reality different from the novel. Lots of details in the novel are just left out because of difficulty in anime story telling. But, it adds visual context of how the world should look, while it isn't described in the book. I read the translated version, so there might be some lost in translation. Some events in the anime is executed differently from the book too because some of the visual design is entirely different from the book, such as light wall power, it should be literal wall, not just hologram, so when dragon breath burns Momo's hair bands, the wall should be degrading in 2 spots, not that the bands are degrading, but that's just a small detail. Also, the bland nature of main character is how the premise of the story. This story doesn't intend depth in main characters, but tries to go in nukes an crannies of side/event characters. We follow Menou, the executioner of the title, who don't know anything about herself to hear about what other people are seeing her as. That's why it's doesn't fit the taste of isekai readers, because it's not isekai, it's total fantasy with someone else coming from another world. But, it also doesn't fit fantasy reader's taste too, because it's poorly written to reflect that (the author literally want it to be an isekai story). However, bland character like this is difficult to follow, and the fact that it somehow works, that is enough for grand prize. Now, for the most annoying part of the story, Akari's affection. This disservices Yuri genre, pretty much. The author just want it to be over represented, and not actually develop anything. But, that's explained with the amount of time Akari had used her power, because the affection had developed many times that it is already completed for Akari, so nothing is to be developed. However, we're following Menou, who has no idea of that relationship. I just started the 3rd translated book, while the original book had went to almost 10 or even more. So I'll leave it here for now.

The manga is really deep. It touches the peoples desires for their perfect wrolds, be that a space, a beautiful flight above the ground or something as simple as a home that they once lost. But story also touches something deep inside everyone. The story of the alice is really something that Everyone understand and can in one way or another see themselves in it. A body limited in function and desire to see/read/hear as much as we could wish, and a small girl that dreamt of a place behind the stone walls and endless books. But completely absorbed in her greed for stories. The human greed to understand and ise that once was the thing we were scared off. And one of the scariest and darkest desires , to be special. I think its a really deep, scary and relatable story. And it can really make you stay awake if you think about it.

ohhh no. this movie was amazing. 10/10 it is amazing! totally recommended. My eyes filled up with tears when every sad seen came. but I got even more emotional when Noppo held Natsume and kousuke tight and didn't let them go. I thought that Noppo's gonna die or gonna leave them. and then came a seen when Noppo actually left and jumped. I coudint hold my tears and started crying quietly becuz I was not alone in my room. Now that everyone has slept, I started balling my eyes out and I still am. I would never cry on other sad movies even if their reality based, but anime just makes me cry. I got attached to Noppo too as well as the characters got attached to him. And thats why studio colorido is my favourite, its stories are different from others. And also, If anyone hasn't watched "a whisker away" then go watch it on netflix.
