@tamertarek my poor eurocentric ,you have to know the truth and what Champollion the first egyptologist and frensh linguist who discovered how to read hyeroglyphs said : """« " The first tribes which populated Egypt, that is to say , Nile valley between the cataract(waterfall) of Syène and the sea, came from Abyssinia. " Champollion-Figeac, "Ancient Egypt", p. 27. ...( Ancient Abyssinia represents now "Meroitic-Soudan, Ethiopia,Erytrea ,Djibouti,Somalia ) .

@ArchKW Nope, not true. During the Tang Dynasty, there is no such thing as "marrying the guy who saw your wrist." That ridiculousness came way later....and way before. The Tang period was extremely liberal and open. Women wore dresses that were translucent and had very low cleavage. People were also much more sexually promiscuous than the later dynasties, in fact, when Persian visitors went to Tang China (Chang'an capitol), they commented on the "loose" women.

to make it clear, they are really beautiful if it wan't for the makeup, sans doute! but it realy freaked me out when they bent down to pick up the lights. i thought they were picking up humers and ready to turn into tortoise, those of u who understand what i meant. it's a inside joke. they shouldn't have shown their hands. in those days, women had to marry a guy if he saw he say her hand. imagine that. i sometimes find guys back then were pretty lucky

are these men!? Can i just say that they are wearing men's cloth with female's wigs. europeens can't pull these off. just like no chinese looks good in a swallowtail, well, hardly any

I thought this was very well done. I am a dancer, drummer and Egyptologist for 27 years. The choice of instruments is exquisite. The ney is much harder to play than the oboe and the oriental sound is probably more like the original than arabic. The dance itself reminds me of moving qigong of which i am a master. It is also reminiscent of north indian temple dancing.

First.... youtube comments is a cesspool of pride, frustration, jealousy, anger and discussion... Second... I don't even read the comments.. But I would think that Javanese or Balinese dancers would find it a great great compliment that people from other nations learn this dance. I'm indonesian myself and remember that every island is different... it's not just indonesian and the rest of asian lands... it is Java, Bali, Sumatra, Ambon... So who are we to judge this dance? did we invent this?
@bugsy93nushka14 жыл бұрын
@Mohamana Well said: I think your observation is true. When Indonesian ladies perform this dance, it is better. But you have to admire the bulehs for trying; and for the fact that they admire Indonesian culture enough to learn what is a difficult dance form

@trounds2 Imitation is true for jazz, rock n roll, since they're pop culture... Yet it sounds terribly stupid to say that this uniquely Javanese fine art are a mere imitation of European culture..
