I finally got around to making your design wall. I'm in love. Mine is 112x100 because I make monster quilts. I used grey flannel instead of white. I wish I could share a photo. I really appreciate the detailed instructions.

I don’t understand your traditional cutting instructions. I cannot get four 6”x21” strips from a fat quarter measuring 18x 21”.
@ChristaQuilts7 күн бұрын
Be sure to read the free pattern instructions thoroughly. You are *not* cutting four strips from one fat quarter. You are cutting 1 strip each from 4 different fat quarters (of each color). I hope that makes sense.

@ ,thank you. I understand now. That’ll teach me to not read patterns when I am tired. 😊

Does the spray wash out after ironing it
@ChristaQuilts7 күн бұрын
Yes it does. I only use and recommend 505 spray. I can't vouch for any other brand.

I've been using your technique for a few years now. I have a king that I'm dreading sandwiching. One problem I have run into with pieced backs, is making sure they are straight on the back corresponding to the front. No problem if it is a whole back, but I hate having a pieced back be a bit wonky once it's quilted and trimmed. I've folded it on a seam and tried lining that up with a front seam, but still seem to struggle. Any tips?

What heat setting do you use for your iron?

I set it at the highest heat but be sure to test first, based on your batting

Thank you for this tutorial, I did something similar and my office large drafting table with a help of a young engineering intern who started sewing during lunch, we do it together. I think doing it in on a regular height table is probably easier to smooth out. I would have ironed it on the table and not taken it inside, but then again the reach would be hard since you had it set up as a double table, tremendous gratitude for your tutorial.

Question about the leaf support for the right side. How far off the floor is the bottom of that support? I have a built-in window seat that I'd like the leaf to extend over and need to make sure the bottom of that support won't hit my built-in. Thx! I think this is a great cabinet & will fit my needs well.

This was just the tutorial I have been looking for! I'm going to do spirals on my new quilt but I have one dilemma and can't decide what to do. I have an inset solid border. Do I spiral across the border onto the outer edge of the quilt to continue the spiral or do I stop, jump over the boarder, and continue the spiral on the outer band of quilt to keep the frame undisturbed? It's a lot of extra thread tie offs but I think it would be worth the effort. Have you had this before? What is your recommendation? Thanks again for the helpful tutorial video.
