I want to add a carbon fiber piece to my guitar. Not a rod. More like a cover to the truss rod and i am really curious how it will sound.

My 1992 Washburn D10N Acoustic is still rock solid today. It's about to get a refresh with new tuning keys, nut and bridge. Teamed up with Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 strings (12/56 lights), Can't stop a good guitar!

LOVE my Washburn B-15 banjo (#44/144), Mahogany wood, brass tone ring, made in S. Korea by craftsmen and women who obviously understand how to make a fine banjo. As a side note, it is a copy of late 20s/early 30s Gibson “master tone” banjos (RB3/RB5 mostly), which at that time Gibson had copied Paramount (mostly), which had evolved from Vega and, wait for it….Washburn 20-30 years prior. Washburn instruments (although not seamless for 140 years like the video suggest) value is very good. I love my Washburn banjo, in the living room and on the bandstand, it stands up well against banjos that cost thousands more.

I bought one two weeks ago, it was a piece of junk. The neck was bowed very bad. Every screw and nut was loose, the neck pickup had a broken coil, the neck had six frets too high and the nut had a lot of drag. It took me 4 hours to get this thing playable plus installing a new pickup. I guess the demo guys get a good one. Shame on Washburn.

You should change your name from Washburn to China Made Guitars. What happened to you Washburn? Such a shame.

What gauge strings do you recommend without causing too much strain on the neck and top?

this is a sweet guitar! Why would someone just plug this into a PA or an amp direct like this guy did. Its not even an acoustic amp. You need to use a Di box or an acoustic amp to get rid of the quack of the piezo. Or mic it? As a musician he should know better!

Michael Sweet has never received the recognition he deserves. Great voice, brilliant guitarist and a humble, down to earth man of God. I pray that he makes a full recovery from his cancer diagnosis. Also the same for Oz Fox, neither of these men deserve to have been diagnosed with this horrible affliction.🙏

I wish they made a modern day version of the style A, B, & C Lyon and Healy professional mandolins. The A could be entry level, and so on and so forth.
@BengtNordsten

There is absolutely ZERO connection between Lyon & Healey Washburns and modern Washburns. For once, Wikipedia has it right. The brand DIED in the early 1940s. The BRAND NAME was resurrected in the 1970s. That said, Washburn guitars (if you skip the absolute cheesiest bargain models) vary from good to amazing. Never turn up your nose at a 1980-2010 Washburn, especially 1998-2003.

So I see a demo of the Washburn Comfort Series G-Mini 12 Mahogany and say to myself "that's the one" and go looking for one to buy and it's NOWHERE.TO.BE.FOUND. Every search turns up the G-Mini 55 Koa - with such a thin sound it has to be concealed with a cajón and bass player. Meh.

I think what people are looking for is a video like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGbaaaxoebB2d7s -- I innocently walked into the Roland / Gibson / Epiphone dealer in Iceland... Who have also started selling Washburn... There were loads of guitars on their walls, but its as if there WERE no other guitars, when I saw the "Deep Forest" (with cutaway, I saw that first) ... They let me try it, and it was SO WELL SET UP! Strings were PERFECT, low action, without any hint of buzz, warm tone, good sustain... It was like a magical moment. Then I saw the Dreadnaught version, on the other wall, and although I had to leave them (I was on my lunch break) I may go back and just... get BOTH. To have the "set". Somehow, they just.. SPOKE to me... among incredible "others"... on the same wall, these stood out. I do love dark guitars.

I’m not a fan of active pickups. I guess they’reok for gain feed to distortion, but I’ve never heard any dual purpose distortion/ clean pickups. Batteries are for flashlights, not pickups. ;)
