Really great channel. I love these old buildings. Watching from Scotland. My brother emigrated to Canada in the 80s and lived in Saskatoon. He played for the local soccer team. Thanks for the amazing videos.

Please take this down and reedit it. Remove the locations. These types of videos only bring vandals and arsonists out to these treasured sites. Leaving this it, you are responsible for the destruction of the historical sites. Shame on you/

I still remember when we stopped there to get gas on our way to the Okanagan in BC for vacation. I was maybe nine years old, and Dad would let me sit on his lap and steer. The population of Dorothy back then was listed on a sign as 18 citizens.

Hi Chris, I'm watching you from Tin Zaouatine, a very remote corner of the Algerian Sahara. I really liked your video which retraces a little of the rural exodus which affects the very beautiful state of Montana. The phenomenon of rural exodus affects practically the entire world, people today tend to settle near large cities to be close to services and amenities. I'm a fan of photographing empty places and would love to visit Montana one day to take some photos. :Ps Are there any venomous snakes in Montana like rattlesnakes? to take precautions when I come there !

It'll be nice to live out there, it's peaceful open country and you look on as far as the eye can see but the remoteness though, you'd have to be self sustaining to live out there

Great tutorial. It helped getting up to speed with the Z fc. My settings have evolved though, mainly to have full control in street photography. Maybe it might help some people: I use M mode, with aperture set to the manual focus ring of my lenses. That way I can control Aperture, Iso and Shutter directly. I usually set the shutter speed as required and adjust the ISO dial to the light conditions. That leaves the aperture ring to finetune my exposure. I tend to use centre weighted as my metering mode. I have the little button next to the shutter set to AF settings, allowing the front and back dials to change AF modes and area. Lastly I set the Fn1 button to change between single, L or H firing. Together with both wheels I can quickly set any speed I want. When there is no time to tweak exposure I just set the camera to P mode and make the shot. And I always use back button focus. Once you get used to that it is the best way to focus a scene. Continuous AF is always my default, when just pressing the focus button once it works as S AF, keeping it pressed makes it Continuous. Best of both worlds.

If any of those towns have good internet connection and access to groceries, I wouldn't mind living there. Those towns are fascinating but the skies are so beautiful too.

As an old pastor of a small country church nearing his final days it’s heart-warming seeing someone comes and mows the grounds of these long abandoned churches.

Farms, towns and villages destroyed by Federal government policies that have been consistently against the economic interests of the inhabitants of Saskatchewan. Once upon a time Saskatchewan was Canada's 3rd most populated province. It now has 2.95% of Canada's total population. There is only 1 province that has received less money under the federal government's "Equalization formula", Saskatchewan's sister province, booming Alberta which has seen a population increase of nearly 1.5 million people in the last 17 years.

Watching from Missoula, Montana. Bravo, on a great video showcasing some of our historical places. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 One critique, it's pronounced Gran-nit, like the rock. Other than that one minor error, you had a lot of great info about our ghost towns. I'm looking forward to watching some more of your videos. 😁

Please take this video down. You now have presented this to millions of people and 100s of them will vandalize and some of them will even burn them down. If wanted to show them, then at least leave then names and locations out. Otherwise, you have just single handedly destroyed these treasures. I have been to many of theses places and photographed them. I never give the location. Every time I go back, there is even more vandalism. So please take this video down. Reedit leaving out the locations. Otherwise, realize you have just added to their destruction.

I live in this area. While the area and people are charming it does come with it's own challenges. Declining populations, increasing commutes for work, lack of employment opportunities, good luck finding groceries locally in many of these small towns. With the increasing encroachment of businesses like Dollar general and Walmart pricing out local business and then even those closing, goods and services are in short supply.

I grew up believing Texans did not use the toilet. In the time before rest stops, gas stations and stores refused to let people use, their bathrooms unless a purchase was made.
