I think Azumanga Daioh would count as underrated now. If I am correct, I think it was pretty popular in the early 2000s, but I was shocked to realize that most people my age have never heard of it. Same with Yu Yu Hakusho. Yu yu was definitely super popular when it came out, but so few people my age actually know about it, which is sad because it's one of my all time favourite anime series!

Baka Test is no joke my Favorite Anime can't explain why it just makes me laugh like no other show while the dub is good I would probably recommend the sub since they're able to get away with things you can't really say anymore and it adds up the humor

People confuse unpopular with underrated all the time and it’s weird. Kiznaiver was one of the most hyped up shows at the time and was triggers big “thing” anime. They blew tons on marketing and there were literally episode releases for just interviews with the cast. It flopped. It wasn’t underrated. People just didn’t like it. It was boring and especially in its time felt far too samey to what trigger had done before. Kill la kill was still recent back then. And the sentiment was that you were better off just watching that. You still are. It’s shorter with worse characters and worse music. Nothing about it was memorable and its character never became a part of pop culture or even memes. It’s ok to like it. But people need to stop coping. Just cuz you like a show no one else does doesn’t mean it’s hidden or undervalued. It almost always means it’s not that good to anyone else but you.

An anime I would call underrated would be Muromi-san. It's a slap stick comedy anime, which may not be to everyone's taste, but I found it to be very funny. It's about a kid who just enjoys fishing meeting a mermaid and he gets tied up into her antics. I cannot do the show justice in just a comment but if you enjoy comedy I suggest giving it a watch.

kiznaiver was one of the first anime’s I watched beginning to end and played a big part of what made me love anime and manga. 100% agree extremely underrated .. I have a soft spot for that one.

My theory for Otonashi being there was because he actually did fulfill what he wanted to do by saving those people, but it was Tachibana’s wish to meat the man who gave her a heart that brought him there

4:42 a theory about that “other” dragon.. I want to believe that Lucoa may have two forms, much like Fafnir does..or maybe they knew how big Lucoas actual form is, and they just made a different form to make space for her dragon form..but maybe it’s one of the options that you said. The team may have not known what her dragon form was going to look like yet, or if it was a place holder. This was just a theory that I have 😅

I think Otonashi forgot his memories cos you don't pass onto the next life with your memories. He said he had lived a fulfilled life at the end. Obviously he died first, his heart went to Kanade, he went somewhere between heaven and purgatory until kanade went to the afterlife, which is what summoned Otonashi there in the first place. He died in peace, never having to be there in the first place but because of Kanade wanting to thank the person who gave her her youth, otonashi had to end up there before fully passing on.

Wasn't a sequel! Higurashi got continued. So far still talking about Anime I feel are known by everyone, unless your too young for anything but Pokemon. Also I solved the Beserk "Riddle" - it refers to Beserk, the show, nothing else. This iceberg was clearly done by someone who's 16 years or younger. That's why Berserk is supposedly obscure and Haruhi, the biggest anime of 00s is supposedly even deeper down the iceberg rofl

*Yui doesn’t have mental disorder/disabilities* she is the anime trope of airhead, her personality portrayed as a naive child who isn’t yet familiar with “common sense” however, she is good at social interactions, empathetic, sympathetic, and haven’t held any ill feeling towards others. Yui’s issues are physical not mental, clumsy, sloppy, sluggish, slow, weak, scatterbrained, dependent, and an absolute klutz. Yui is simply spoiled to being unmotivated which means she has energy saved for over-commitment, these overrated Mental Issues only overcomplicates Yui.

Yui has ADD. Maybe not intentionally, but she is a textbook example. Her inattentiveness, hyperfocus, and food obsession are all motivated by what she has her mind on. And, Ritsu best girl, Ritsu-Yui best comedy team, Yui is my hero, and Sawako is also the best.

I was rewatching Angel Beats today thinking about how he looked familiar, but couldn't figure out who he looked like. i would also like to point out that the opening title itself is foreshadowing! my soul, your beats with "my soul" meaning kanade's literal soul/her body and "your beats" meaning otonashi's heartbeat since he quite literally gave her his heart. it's her soul and his heartbeat, such a clever play on words. i love this anime ❤️
