I am an American who has moved to Croatia and I am needing to learn this language to become a citizen. My wife speaks it often and tries to help me learn it as I go along but it’s just easier if I have something like this to help me.

Hopefully this is not where the videos go downhill. They were very good until you started just speaking in Croatian without translations. I listen while driving to work and can’t look at the screen - but even when I tried to watch at home to figure out what was going on the last frames didn’t have any translation so I had to replay to see what the untranslated text meant. Hopefully this is not how the rest of the videos go.

I dont understand how dobra vecer feminine gender?? vecer-"r" noun ends with "r" and it should be masculine gender right? Good girl Dobro-"o" how its feminine gender Please explain i am confused😭😭😭
@Croatian101Lesson3 ай бұрын
In Croatian, 'večer' (evening) is actually a feminine noun, even though it ends with 'r,' which can be tricky. That's why we say 'dobra večer'-'dobra' is the feminine form of the adjective. On the other hand, 'dobro' (with 'o') is the neuter form, and 'dobar' is the masculine form. So, for 'good girl,' you would use 'dobra djevojka' because 'djevojka' is feminine, while 'dobar dječak' would be 'good boy.' It all depends on the gender of the noun! There are some exceptions in Croatian, and 'večer' is one of them! While most nouns that end in a consonant are masculine, 'večer' is an exception because it's a feminine noun, even though it ends in 'r.' Other examples of feminine nouns that don’t follow the typical pattern include 'noć' (night) and 'kost' (bone), which are also feminine despite their endings. Croatian has only a few of these exceptions, but with time, you'll get used to them.

Hi, Thanks for teaching me croatian language very easily, but in first 20 or 22 lessons. I enjoyed your teaching till 20 or may be 22 lessons, but sorry to say I couldn't learn after those lessons. You know why, because it was tough to learn croatian without English. You stopped speaking English and it was totally impossible for me to learn and also the words were more tough after those lessons, and I wish I could learn those tough lessons with English.
@Croatian101Lesson4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your feedback, and I’m glad the first lessons were helpful! I’m sorry it became more difficult after I reduced the use of English. I made this decision because many viewers commented that there was too much English. However, I’m adding subtitles in multiple languages to make the lessons more accessible for everyone. I hope this will help make it easier for you to continue learning! Thanks for your understanding and support!

I know about the subtitle in English and infact you announced before your this decision, but please keep making your videos in the same way you started.. in my opinion sir that was an easy idea to learn for us. Thank you 😊
