So short answer is we really dont have a right. If youre out numbered, teenagers or not a golf club could be necessary, theres a BIG difference between 13 year olds and 17 year olds, but how are you supossed to know? Moreover if the judge is going to consider 'other options available' then theyll always lean against you saying you could have left the house at 3am with your wife and kids in their PJs. They consider MY intent with protecting my family, yet the criminal's intent I guess is a lower priority. What'll end up happening is people will take matters into their own hands evetually, and police wont even be called, these criminals will just end up with street justice, and left out on the curb bleeding and beaten. Good normally non violent people will become fed up with the rising crime and become animals to defend their families, businesses, and homes.
